Journaled in suitable bearings in the bottom of the frame 1 there are front and rear shafts 2 and 3, respectively. The ends of the shaft 2 are cranked and provided with front pedals 4, while on the ends of the shaft 3 there are fixed ground wheels 5. Both the shafts 2cand 3 have OPP iteIy directed crank portions 6 and 7, arranged between "the side members of the frame, and the cranks of the respective shafts are connecte by the usual connecting rods 8.
' It will be apparent that by revolving the" shaft 2 a like movement willbe imparted to the shaft 3 for turning the wheels 5.;In addition to the cranks 7 the shaft 3 is provided with a central oflset or crank portion 10,the purpose of which will presently be apparent.

The head 25is also hollow and the mouth portion thereof has passed therethrough a rod 26. Centrally fixed on this rod 26 there is an arched yoke 27, the said yoke preferably compris ing two spaced members whose outer or free ends are connected, as at 28. The improvement is of a comparatively simple construction which may be cheaply manufactured and which will afford both amusement and exercise to the user thereof. The nature of the invention necessarily renders the same susceptible to changes and modifications and, therefore, it is to he understood that I am not to be restricted to the precise details of construction herein set forth and may make such changes therefrom as fairly fall within the scope of the appended claims.
Having described the invention,I claim 1. A wheeledtoy as herein described, comprising a frame, spaced transversely arranged shafts journaled on the frame, ground wheels fixed on the ends of one of the shafts, the second shaft having cranked ends and provided with pedals, means between the shafts for imparting motion to the wheel carrying shaft when the pedal carrying shaft is turned, steering wheels between the forward ends of the frame, a mount therefor, a pivotally supported cranked rod associated with the mount and extending above the frame, a hollow body representing the figure of a galloping horse arranged over the frame and having its sides pivotally secured to the sides of the frame, means operated by the turning of the wheel carrying shaft for imparting a vertical reciprocatory movement to the hollow body a head pivotally secured on the body, a strap having its ends secured to the sides of the head, and an arched yoke fixed to the head, depending therefrom and receiving the cranked rod therethrough, for the purpose set forth.
2. A toy including a substantially rectangular frame, front and rear shafts journaled transversely on the bottom of the frame, ground wheels fixed to the ends of the rear shaft, the front shaft having its ends cranked and provided with pedals. means between the shafts whereby the turning of the pedal shaft will impart a like turning to the wheel carrying shaft. said last mcntioned shaft having a cranked portion, steering wheels arranged between the sides of the frame at the front thereof, a mount for the steering wheels, :1 cranked rod pivotally supported on the frame and associated with tln mount, a guide element for the. crank rod secured to the frame, a hollow body represent ing the figure of a galloping horse arranged over the sides of the frame and centrally pivoted to said sides of the frame, a pit-man pivoted in the rear of the body and mounted on the cranked portion of the wheel shaft, a head pivotally seemed on the forward end of the body, a strap re 'n'esenting a rein having its ends secured to the sides of the head, and an arched yoke depending from the head and receiving between the arms thereof the mentioned crank rod, for the purpose set forth.
In testimony whereof I atlix my signature.
