DISPLAY RACK.

tion, having a plurality ot lvertically extend- `ing openings thereinto. trames, each adapted to carry an exhibit bed A plurality oi' spring thereon, are respectively pivotally mounted on a plurality ot' carriages slidable in the housing openings. In the folded position, the frames and springs are carried vertically on the carriages vwithin the openings. When a spring is to be demonstrated, its carriage is withdrawn and the' trarne and spring pivotally moved to ythe horizontal position which the spring normally occupies in use. lt is a further object ofviny invention to provide a display rack ot this type.
ln the accompanying drawing, I have illustrated one speciiic embodiment 'of my invention, but it will be understood that the invention can be otherwise embodied and that the drawing is not to be'construed as dei'ining or limiting the scope ot the invention, the claims appended to the speciiioation being relied upon oi that purpose.
Figurek 1 ot the drawing illustrates a perspective view of one form of my invention.
Figure 2 is a detail view taken on line n .ii or rig. i.
The housing of my improved display rack, preferably made ot structural steel as illustra-ted in the drawing, is also preferably made in portable sections, though it will of course be understood that the sanie'can be built-in construction, if desired. The housing illustrated comprises a plurality of vertically extending frame units, each constructed ot vertically extending angle bars l and top and bottom connecting horizontal These units are secured to the floor in relatively spaced relation by means of screws 3. only tour ora these units, although it will be understood that as many may be provided as desired. lt will be seen that a vertically Yextending yopening' is provided between eachv ln the drawing, I have shownV position. A protecting root 4 is preferably provided over the top of the housing.
A carriage 5 comprising an inverted U- shaped channel bar mounted on rollers is provided for each opening and is adapted to support the bed spring and its supporting traine therein The front-end of each carriage is supported on rollers 6 riding on the floor.. rlhe rear end there-of is carried by rollers 7 riding on tracks 8 formed ot channel bars secured to the lower ends ot the trame units.
VThe bed spring 9 to be displayed is sup-- ported on ai steel frame l0 and is secured thereto by wing nuts l1.
This traine is pivotally mounted at 12, to the upper ends vof a pair of supporting angle irons 13 secured to the carriage. The trame is movable about these pivots to vertical and horizontal positions. In the vertical position,
the trame and its spring are. adapted to be moved with the carriage into its respective opening in the housing. YIn the horizontal i position, the frame and spring occupy the normal position of the spring in use,.the
outer end of the frame being supportedby the well known folding legs 14. Springs.
l5 may be provided for counterbalancing the weight of the frame 10 when the saine is being' moved about its pivots 12.
lt is believed that the construction and use of myinvention will be obvious. Enough housing units are provided to make as many openings as there are springs to be demonstrated, each 'frame 10 being adapted to support one such spring. In the folded position, the springs are stored in a very neat and compact order. Then a spring is to be demonstrated, the carriage supporting that spring is drawn out and the 'frame dropped to the ho `izontal position illustrated, all of which will be understood. this position, the spring is supported in tlie normal position which it occupies in use.
Obviously, a mattress-can be placed on the in V ies, the spring supporting trames 10 will be mounted to pivot toward the center ot the battery, that is, the right hand 5 trames will pivot to the left and the lett hand to theorie-ht. ln this manner the device can be mounted in a Corner or against a wall without in any way intel-tering with the lowering ot' the trames. i 1
Having thus described my intention` what I claim is: i
l. A display rack for bed sprinllis, Coinprising the combination otl an, upright housing' having a plurality ot vertically extendingr openings thereinto. a plurality ot ear riages mounted on rollers and respectively slidable into and out ot such openings, each Carriage comprising` an inverted U-shaped Channel bar, two upright supports carried by each carriage resliectirelj adjacent the elujlsthereo'l, a traine tor each earriane pivotally mounted on the said supports adjacent one end oit the traine and adapted to supporta bed spring; thereon, the trames being' movable about the pivots to a horizontal position when the carriages are Withdrawn troni the `trame housing`r and means at the tree ends ot the trames for suppoitine4 the same in the horizontal position.
A display racl; tor bed springe, CoinprisinnI the eonibination ot' au upright housing: haring a plurality ot' Yeitieall)7 extending openings thereinto, a pair ot channel bars supported ou the Walls at opposite sides ot eaeh opening and extending hori- '/Qontalltir thereinto adjacent the bottom ot the openings, a plurality ot' carriages movable into and out ot' the oi'ienings, rollers suppertingr the inner end ol each 'rarriagre on the 4said channel bars, rollers supporting :i ,empli the outer cud ot euch carriage ou the floor. two upright supports earried by each earringen respectively, adjacent the ends thereojl'i; a "l'raniemtor eaeli carriage` pivotally mounted on the said `supports adjacent one end ot the traine and adapted to support a lied spring' thereon, the trames being moi# able aboutI the pivots to a horizontal position when the Qarriages are Withdrawn from the trame housing, and means at the tree. end of the trames for .L -:uppoiting the saine in the horizontal position.
23. It displazY rack tor hed springs, comln'isinf.;- the combination ot' an open upright housing; formed of steel annie bars. certain ot the bars beine' spared horizontall)Y 'to provide a iiluralit);Y ol vertically extending' openings into the housing, horizontally extending metal bars secured to the housing` adjacent the bottom and at. oppositie sides ot each opening. a plurality ot carriages movable into and out ol the openings, rollers supporting: the inner end ot each oarriagje on the last said barsE rollers supprn't- .ing the outer end ot each carriage on the iloor`r a trame 'tor each carriage pirotully mounted on the carriage adjacent one end ot the traine and adapted to support a bed spring thereon, the trames being` movable about the pivots to a horizontal position when the carriages are Withdrawn `from the trame housing, and means at the free ond ot the 'trames for supporting' the saine in the horizontal position.
