My invention relates to window hanging device; and the main object of the invention is to provide and arrange such a device which will entirely conceal the sash cables and also the sash pulleys. Another object is to provide such a device with means which will act as sash parting means and will at the same time house and conceal the cables. A further object is to provide means on the device for concealing the cables and for also keeping out wind and weather from entering past the window into the room. Another object is to provide parting means and shielding means thereon for housing and concealf ing the cables, and further to provide spring means for co-operating with either said parting means or said shielding means to keep out wind and weather. A further object is to provide parting means and shielding means thereon which assists said parting' means for housing and concealing the cables and which also acts as connecting means to connect the cable with its sash for retaining said sash in position vertically in Ithe frame by means of the cable and its weights. And another object is to provide parting means for concealing the cables, and casing means at the top thereof for concealing the pulleys.
Other objects and advantages are aecomplished with my invention, as will become apparent from the following description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, in which,

Shielding means 16 is provided to keep out wind and weather, and is fastened to the lower sash 17 and to its cable 15, and a like means 16 is fastened to the upper sash 17` and to its cable and also act to retain the window saslies in their vertical position in the frame by means of these cables and their weights 18 and 18. Each means 16 is preferably arranged in the form of a fiat casing having the inner' edge part roundedand embracing and fastened upon the cable and traveling therewith in the guide channel `provided in the parting means; while 'the outer edge of means 16 is fastened to the sash, preferably in a notch provided therein. This means or casing 16 thus extends across the edge of the sash and substantially along the full length of the sash, thus serving` as shielding means to co-operate with the parting means for keeping out wind and weather from entering around the window edge into the room. A cap 19 is mounted over the end of each casing 16 to keep out dust and the like from entering the casing.
Spring means is provided which is prefer ably S-shaped in cross section, one member being mounted in a groove or channel arranged at each side in the inner member 12 of the parting means, and this spring means extends substantially the length of the lower Vsash and has an upper beveled end 20 g'while a similar spring 21 ,is mounted above each member 2O in said groove in member 12 and lllt) extends substantially the length ot the upper sash, each having a lower beveled edge 2l. These members 2O and 2l are `fastened in the partitie' means, with rivets or the like, and remain stationary with said means in the trame.

This casing` 28 is pref-- erablvY fastened to the upper end l2 of member l2. as with a screw or element 30, and also attached with an angle iron 3l to a bracket 32 and thereb)7 tastened, as with screw 33 to the head 3l ot the window trame 3l; and a bracket or angle iron 35 supports the diverging end ot vthe casing, being fastened to i'rame Bel, as with a screw 36.
In installing` the device the casing' with its pulleys and cables is fastened to the top end 1Q ot the parting' means and is therewith placed in the trame so that the casingv rests on bracket 35, and bracket 32 is then liastened by screw 35:3 to the head 3l ot the trame, the curved springs Q0 and 2l. with the shieldingn memliers 1G beine` positioned with the cables in the paldimg` means. The sashes with i,'oke-memhers 23 are then placed in Vposition b v sliding' the vokes over the outer edges ol shielding' means lt, and the levers fil are thereafter placed over they end ol" rod 2t; and 'fastened with screws E25 in their grooves on the sashes.

What lv claim as mv invention and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
l. A window hanging' device cv'unprisine sash parting means connected to the trame. and cable emln'acing means connectlal to and movable with the window sash to cooperate with and aid the parting means 'tor containing;` and concealing` the window cable7 and keep out wind and weather.
2. A window hangingl device comprisingl sash parting means arranged lor concealing' the window cable, and a shielding' casing embracing and -tastened to the cable and extending' Alrom the parting means across the ede'e ot' the sash and alonethe side thereot 'tor sulistantiallyv its entire length.
3. A. window hanging;` device comprising' sash partingl means arranged ttor concealinethe window cable, shielding means eX- tending' -from the parting means alone; the window sash, and channel means attached to the sash and embracing` the outward edge of said shielding means but permitting read)v separation ot the sash and channel means :trom the shielding` means and part ing means.
4. A window hanging device comprising a cable and sash parting means arranged to house and conceal said cable, and means fastened to said cable and traveling therewith in said means and being fastened to the sash for holding it in position by means of said cable.
5. A window hanging device comprising` a cable and sash parting means arranged for concealing the cable, shielding means extending from said cable to the sash and substantially the length thereoi and traveling therewith, and means extending substantially the length ot the sash, and along which said shielding means slides, to assist in keeping out wind and weather.
6. A window hanging device coniprising a cable and sash parting means arranged for concealing the cable, shielding means extending from the cable and parting means to the sash, and curved spring means on said parting means arranged to engage and cto-operate with either the parting means or the shielding means for keeping out wind and weather.
7. A window hanging device comprising a cable and sash parting means concealing the cable, shielding means extending from the parting means to the sash and moving with the sash, and curved spring means enthe parting means, extending the length ot' the sash, and having a beveled end engageable by said shielding means to move the spring means away from the parting means, whereupon the shielding means and the spring means cti-operate to keep out wind and weather.
8. A window hanging device comprising cables and sash parting means concealing the cables and having means to provide separate guide channels for said cables, shielding means connected to and extending 'from each sash vto its cable and for the length of the sash, and curved spring means stationary with the channel means and arranged to be 'flexed by the shielding means and cri-operate with the same to keep out 'wind and weather when the sash is in a certain position, and to engage the parting means, when the sash is in another position, to keep out wind and weather.
9. A Window hanging device comprising sash parting means arranged to conceal the window cable, shielding means extendingl from the parting means and cable along the window sash, and fastening means on the ends of said shielding means and being readily attachable to and detachable from the ends of the window sash.

A windowy hanging device comprising sash parting means arranged to conceal the window cable, shielding means extending 'from the parting means and cable along the f'indow sash, a rod projecting l'rom said shielding means, and a lever on the end of the sash for engaging said rod and holding said shielding means attached to said sash, said lever being readily removable from said rod and said sash.

A window hanging device comprising parting means arranged for containing the cables of the window sashes, and a casing secured to the upper end of said parting means and having the cable pulleys set therein to diverge outward from said parting means, said device being arranged to entirely conceal the cables and also the pulleys. i
12. A window hanging device comprising a parting member with means therein providing guide channels for separating the cables., means slidable at one side with the cables in said guide channels and being fastened with the other sides to the window sashes, and a pulley casing with diverging parts secured to the upper end of said parting member and channel means and having the pulleys arranged therein at an angle to place the converging parts over said guide channels and to place the diverging parts apart for acommodating the Tvindow weights.
