This invention relates to automatic damper regulators for stoves, vfurnaces and heating apparatus generally, more particularly for coal or other solid fuel heating apparatus for rooms, dwellings and small uildings, of the type shown in my prior patent granted tome on December 30, 1924, No. 1,521,436.

I claim:
1. A regulator for. stoves, furnaces and,
' the like, having check and draft dampers,=,
comprising .an operating arm associated with one of said dampers, a flexible thermostat element positioned to engage said arm, means connecting said dampers for sithe like, having a check damper pivoted so I that it will be opened by gravity and a draft damper p-ivotedso that it will; close by gravity, with means connecting said dampers together for simultaneous operation to reversed positions, comprising a counterweighted crank arm secured to one of said dampers and movable therewith, a bending bi-metallic thermostat positioned to engage said arm and adapted in its normal position to hold, the check damper closed and the draft damper open, and latch means for locking said thermostat out of its normal position, thereby permitting the check damper to open and the draft damper to close.

A regulator for stoves, fur aces and the like, having check and draft mpers, connected together for simultaneous operation to reversed positions, comprising an operating arm associated with said check damper, a thermostat element positioned to directly engage said arm and adapted in its normal position to hold. the check damper closed and g the draft damper open, a housing surround- ;ing said operating arm and thermostat, and
