UNITED s -A PAUL THEURICH, OF DBESDEN, GERMANY, ASSIGH'OR TO THE FIRM WEZEL & N A'U MANN, AKTIENGESELLSGHAFT, OF LEIIYZIG, GERMANY.
ADVERTISING PANEL OR DE Application filed June 12, 1925, Serial No.
This invention relates to advertisinc panels and decorative wall coverings an consists in this that the advertising matter or design is printed on an originally \flat paper 6 strip and is then pasted or otherwise caused to adhere after the manner of corrugated paper in waves to a flat background. The product thus obtained is of surprisingly attractive appearance produced by the co- 10 bperation of the corrugated surface and the play of light. and shade obtained thereby with the design (in which term is intended to be included the printed matter and pictures).
The impression produced by the usual corrugated paper in single colour or uniform colour is not to be compared with the impression produced by the product in accordance with the invention, which is that of a heavy plush or certain kinds of tapestry.
- At a very low cost therefore panels or stri s can be produced which are suitable as a bac ground for window decorations, for covering show cases and like purposes.
The impression made by the printed matter, pictures or other deslgns makes a very notable impression due to their corrugated forms when viewed from a sharp angle} since from the same angle fiat parts of-the corrugations are always presented which lie at right angles orapproximate'ly at right angles to'the direction from whichthey are viewed, and thus an impression of a (leSlglP is given which is different from that given i '35 by a design on a flat surface.
.Fig. 1 of the accompanying drawing shows the improved product in elevation.

Referring to the drawing, a denotes the TESIV PATENTF oFFlCE. I
fiat background and b the covering strip shown corrugated in Figs. 1 and 2 and fiat in Fig. 3. A comparison of Figs; 1 and 3 makes it clear how the design printed on the flat covering strip intentionally distorted is transformed by corrugation into a design of the desired appearance in the completed product.
Having now particularly described and ascertained thenature of my said invention and in what manner the same is to be performed, I" declare that, what I claim is 1. A method of producing a decorative wall covering for advertising purposes, consisting in applying the design constituting the decorative or advertising matter in a distorted manner on a sheet having a flat surface, then corrugatihg said sheet and providi'ng said corrugated sheet with a flexible flat background permanently secured thereto.
2. An advertising or decorative panel comprising a corrugated paper sheet with a design applied thereto in distorted mariner so that the design is rectified by the corrugations and a flat paper sheet a p lied to the back of said first sheet holding th individual corrugations in position.
3. An advertising or decorative panel comprising a paper sheet having vertical corrugations and a design applied thereto in distorted manner so that the same is-rectified by the said corrugations and a flatpaper sheet fixed to the back ofsaid first sheet and holding said corrugations 'in position.
v In testimony whereofl atfix my signature.
PAUL THEURICH.
