'This invention relates to capsules, or containers, for gases, or liquids, under pressure (hereinafter referred to as the capsule) and is more especially applicable to capsules of the kind described in the specification of my patent in the United States of America N 0. 1,387,451, and this invention has for its object to provide means whereby the said capsule is adapted for use in inflating apparatus for-saving life from drowning, or for other purposes, and mainly consists in pro viding the said capsule with a closure and a fitment for breaking the said closure at a weak part whereby the contents of the capsule can be quickly liberated therefrom and allowed to flow into and inflate a flexible bag, or-container, I
According to this invention the closure of the capsule is provided with a stem-like por tion of any suitable length which projects I outwardlyfrom the capsule, and this portion of soft metal,
is made hollow for a part of its len th and is externally screw-threaded or. 0t erwise grooved, so that it can be screwed, or otherwise secured, into a piece projecting into the" interior of the flexible bag, or container, to be inflated. The said piece into which the projecting portion of the closure is screwed may be secured to, or formed in one with, a handle secured into an opening in the said he or container.

The ca sule 1 is closed, in the shewn'in igure 1, bya closure 2, preferably screwed into an internally screw-threaded recess 3 formed in the open end ofthe said capsule. The closure 2 is provided with an outwardly projecting stem-like portion 4 hollowed at 5 so that it can be easily broken, and-externally screw threaded so that it can'be screwed into a piece 6 which, as shewnin Figure 2, may constitute both the lower "part of. a handle 'mainin example 64,190, and in Great Britain August 5, 1925.

liquids, in he capsule 1 the operator holds the handle in one hand and grips, through the flexible bag, or container, 8 the said capsule with his other "hand and by a sharp angular movement breaks the projecting portion 4 of the closure 2 of the said capsule, as 'shewn in Figure 3, thereby liberating the gas which then flows into and inflates the said bag, orcontainer.
.When desired the handle 7 can be removed, the empty capsule 1 extracted through the opening 9 and after removing the broken stem-like portion 4 of the closure -2 from the piece 6 of the handle 7 another closed and charged capsule can be screwed into the said piece and the handle be again screwed into the socket 10 in readiness for inflating the bag, or container, when desired.
The portion screwe described in my aforesaid specification and the said'capsule maythen be refilled and be closed by a new closure ready for re-use.
