A refrigerator embodying the invention comprises an outer casing designated generally 1 which includes a body that is sul stantially rectangular in horizontal sectional contour and is closed at its lower end and open at its upper end. The body of the outer casing may be supported on legs 2 and is provided at its upper end with a hinged lid 3.
