This invention relates to improvements in metal facing-s for .window openings and is here shown as applied to a window openingz'. s V 7 One of the objects of my invention is to provide a smooth, neat, strong and durable window openings on protecting facing for the inside of rooms. The, facing when installed, with the plastering in place, has the appearance of being acontinuation of the plaster. Each of these pieces comprises a single integral strip or piece of curved sheet metal substantially L-shaped in cross-section and bent in the ,formof a U.
Each of these pieces and B may be pressed and formed out of a single strip of sheet metal, or the straight portions may be formed separately and the curved corners made out of separate pieces and joined to the straight portions. 'As stated above, each of the sheet metal pieces is L-shaped in cross-section as best shown in Figure 2. The inner face 10 forms the reveal and the outer face 11 formsthe trim. The reveal 10 and trim 11 are joined by the curved part 12. In the lower half B of the casing, the reveal. 1O is'sometimes referred to as the stool.
The outer margin 13 ofthe trim 11 is bent inwardly and back on itself to form a U-fold to afford a horizontal groove 14 which faces inwardly. Suitable anchoring clips 15, also U-formed, are provided for attaching the casing to the wall. The shorter end of each of these clips is slidably mounted in the ranges groove 14, and the longer end is adapted to be placedagainst the wall 16" and attached in any suitable manner as by means of the nail 17. The clips not only anchor the easing to the wall .and imaintain a suitable; space between the trim and the wall, but} are also spaced apart sufiiciently themselves to permit the plastering or other fillinglS to be inserted between the trim and the wall. The extreme outer edge of. the trim 11 as indicated by 11 where'the same'is curved to form the bent back marginal 'portion 13, is flush with the plastered wall 18 and acts as afinishing ground for theplas ter.
The bent back marginal portion 13 is also preferably provided with a. longitudinal bend or corrugation 19 and the shortend'of the clip 15 is provided with a similar cooperating bend or corrugation 20, thus permitting the clip to slide longitudinally in the groove 14 but preventing it from being pulled out inwardly. While I have shown and described cert ain embodiments of my invention, it is to be understood that it capable of many modifications. Changes, therefore, in the construction and arrangement may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as disclosed in the appended claims, in which it is my intention to claim all novelty inherent in my invention as broadly as possible in view of the prior art. What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is: i y i 1. A metal facing for a window opening comprising, two U shaped integral metal pieces adapted to be placed together to form a rectangular frame, each of such pieces being substantially L-shaped in cross-section to form a reveal and a trim, and means for attaching said pieces to a wall and spacing the trim from the wall.

A metal facing for a window opening comprising, two U-shaped integral metal pieces of substai'itially the same size and shape, adapted to be placed together to term i a rectangular frame, each of such pieces being substantially L-shaped in cross section to form a reveal and a trim, and adjustable clips mounted on saidpieces for attaching the same to a wall and spacing the trim away from said wall.
10.A facing for a window opening comprising a rectangular frame consisting of two U-shaped sheet metal members, each member being substantially L-.shaped in cross-section to provide a reveal and a trim at sul'istautially right angles to each other, and means for joiniiig said sheet metal members together.
