My invention relates to and has for its purpose the provision of an attachment for hair clippers either manually or motor operated and used in the clipping of human air 6 or animal hair by which hair as it is clipped is removed from the vicinity of the clipper and conveyed to, for collection in, a remote receptacle, whereb the unhygienic conditions resultant of c i ped hair and the labor involved in the clipping of the hair is eliminated.
It is also a purpose of my invention to provide an attachment of the above described character which employs air suction or what iscommonl referred to as vacuum for collecting the air, my invention specifically involving the provision of a ortable suction nozzle associated with a palr of chppers in such manner as to not interfere with the normal use of the clippers, get efiectively collect in all hair as it is cut y the clippers.
I will describe only one form of hair collecting attachment embodying my 1nvent1on and one form of hair clipper, and will then point out the novel features thereof in the claim. I

Referring specifically tothe drawings, in
which similar reference characters apply to similar parts in each of the views, my invention, generically, embodies the broad combination of a hair clipper and a suction apparatus associated with the hair clipper to effectively collectcut hair as it is chpped by the clipper. In the present embodiment of my invention, the suction apparatus comprises a motor operated fan 15 rotatable in a casing 16 to which latter is connected a flexible pipe 17 and to a nozzle designated generally at N. connection with a suitable receptacle (not shown) into which is finally deposited the hair as collected by the apparatus.
The nozzle N comprises an elongated tubular body 19 formed of metal or other suitable material and having a relatively broad intake end 20, and a rounded discharge end 2i, this latter end being connected to the pigs 17. The bottom side of the body 19 is su stantially fiat, as illustrated in Figure 3, and as shownin F igure4 it is provided with a depending socket22. This socket 22 is adjacent the discharge end of the body, to the intake end a pair of arms 23 extend downwardly from opposite sides of the body with their free ends bent inwardly upon themselves to provide heads 24. These arms 23 are formed of resilient metal and they are adapted to co-operate with each other and with the heads 24 to form clips for detachably securing a pair of clippers to the under side of the nozzle body.
I have shown in Figures 1 and 2 a conventional pair of hair clippers comprising an elongated bod 25, the rear end 26 of which is rounde while the forward end carries the clipping blades 27. Extending into the rear end of the body is a flexible shaft 28 operatively connected to a motor 29 which may be suspended-in elevated position as shown and which is ada ted to operate the blades27 of the clipper through the medium of the shaft 28.
In the applied position of the clipper to the nozzle, socket 22,
while the spring arms 23 embrace the body 25 at its opposite sides with the heads 24 securing the body against displacement from between the arms. In this manner, the arms function to retain the rear end of the clipper body in the socket 22 and to thus securely retain the clipper upon the under side of the nozzle body with the blades 27 disposedbelow and in advance of the intake end 20. In practice, the operator grips the nozzle body 1n the manipulation of the clippers inthe usual manner to effect clipping of hair, and during this clipping operation the. hair which is clipped is sucked into the intake end of the nozzle and finally discharged into the remote receptacle connected to the discharge 18.

The mounting of the clippers on the nozzle permits of the ready attaching and detaching of the clippers to the nozzle so that both may be. readily cleaned or re paired and either may be used independently.
Although I have herein shown and described only one form of hair collecting attachment embodying my invention, and one form of clipper, it is to be understood that various changes and modifications may be made without departing from the spirit of the invention and the spirit and scope of the appended claim.
I claim as m invention:
In combination, a hair clipper having an elongated body, and an air suction nozzle having a the body, and clips enga body and co-acting with t e socket vto retain the clipper on the nozzle with the blades of the clipper adjacent the intake end of the nozzle.
