AUTOMATIC HYDRAULIC BALL OOCK.

My invention relates to ball cocks for use in toilet flushing tanks, cisterns, overiiows and in any and all places where it is desired to control the filled level of the liquid to b e removed therefrom through the siphonic principle or through valved control mechanism. v
My invention consists of new, novel and useful means for accomplishing this wresult by automatic hydraulic means.
My device consistsl primarily ofv a valve adapted to being quickly opened, and when closed to have cushioning means provided for t-he prevention of a water hammer.
A further object ofrmyA inventionconsist ing ina cam actuator, adapted to having imparted thereto, two speeds of opening. one to crack the valve, or to break the initial set of the valve, and after this has been accomplished, a quick opening of the same through the cam pawl engaging a sloping surface on its opposite end adapted to increase the speed of opening thereof.
A further object of my invention consists in the quick release of the camV actuator.
A further object of my invention consists in providing a splash skirt around the 'outer periphery of the valve cock body to confine the liquids escaping therefrom, and thereby preventing a splashing of the escaping liquids.
With these and incidental objects in view, the invention consists in certain novel features Vof construction and combination of parts, the essential elements of which are set forth in the appended claims and to a preferred form of embodiment of which is hereinafter shown with reference to the drawings which accompany and form a part of this specification.

l is the body of the valve cock having a longitudinal cylindrical opening 2 therethrough, adapted to the passageof the valve stem 3 therethrough, the side walls of the valve cock body forming suitable bearing for maintaining the same in alignment and in position. A tapered inner wall 4, is disposed on the inner surface of the valve cock body, its slopingfsurface 'terminating at the longitudinal cylindrical opening therethrough, formingV the guideway for Vthe valve stem. The valve stem'3 has a collar 5, adapted to engageu with the tapering side walls of the valve body, lso that as the valve is seating upon the 'seat 10 of the valve body, a quantity of the liquid will be trapped within the enclosure 7, and will escape about and past the collar 5, to lessen the water hammer that` would be otherwise created by the instantaneousclosing of the liquid passage through the valve. A valve face S, of suitable valve material,` as rubber, is disposed about the valve head 9, disposed on the lower end'of the valve stem. The

One of the things accomplished by a device of this kind is the elimination of the customary noises that generally prevail.
