My invention relates to caps or plugs for the distribution of electric current to various apparatus. An object of the invention is to provide a simple cap construction which will allow the supplying of a plurality of different apparatus with current from a single receptacle or outlet. Another object of the'invention is to provide a cap of such a construction that the leads may extend therefrom either through the enduor side wall thereof without disconnecting them from the binding posts. A diurther object of the invention is to provide a body for a cap of this type which maybe formed en'- tirely in dies having straight up and down movements, and, therefore, to decrease the.

With these and other objects in view I have devised the improved 'cap illustrated in the accompanying drawings in which;

The face plate 1.0 covers the receptacle 11 in the wall and is provided with an opening through which the double T slots 11 are accessible for the insertion of the projectingcontact plates, or jack blades 12, on the end of the cap, these T slots. leading to triple spring contact members embedded in recesses therein, these triple spring contact members being of the type disclosed at 13 in Fig. 5.
The cap comprises an.insulating body member 14 having. recesses 15 in one end thereof separated by the tongue 16. Communicating with these recesses 15 are sockets 17 adapted to contain triple spring contacts, as 13, and the other end of the cap'is provided with T slots 18 leading to the sockets 17 to allow for the insertion of the projecting contact plates 12 of another cap. and contacts are preferably secured in the recesses and sockets in the cap by means of -opening 22 adapted to fit over theend of internally threaded bushings 211 moulded this bushing. The end of the bushing is then spun over the plate to retain it in position, the binding screw 20 being inserted in the tapped opening 23 in the bushing. This makes a very secure connection for the binding posts and contact which is separate and distinct from the action of .the binding screw.
Extending longitudinally through the cap is a lead passage 24 which communicates with the recesses 15 in the end of the cap. The other end of the passage is provided with a single opening leading through the end of cap at 25 and also through the side of the cap at 26. This arrangement of the lead passage and the opening thereto for a the lead wires 27 allows the formation of the body of the cap by dies having a straight up and down movement and also allows for the lead of the lead Wires from either the end or the side of the cap without the necessity for a separate operation of drilling.an

' Having thus set forth the-nature of my invention, what I claim is:
. 1. An attachment plug with sockets for electrical contacts and con tact blade openings leading thereto, said body being provided with a lead passage exb'ody provided 'end of the body tending longitudinally thereof from one end, and said passage having a single inlet openmg leading both longitudinally from the wall of the body.
2. An attachment plug bodv provided with sockets for electrical contacts, a slot leading from one end to each socket, and a lead passage extending longitudinally ofthe body, said passage having a single inlet opening leading both longitudinally from one end of the body and laterallyfrom the side wall of the body.
3. An attachment plug comprising an insulating body, a pair of contact blades projecting from one end thereof, binding posts.

In a device of the character described, an attachment plug for one or more extension circuits comprising an insulating body, a pair of contact blades projecting from one end of said body and provided, with binding posts for the connection of an extension circuit thereto, the other end of said body being provided with recesses and slots adapted for the insertion of contact blades leading thereto, contacts in said recesses and having electrical connections with said binding posts, said body being provided with a passage extending longitudinally thereof for the leads, said passage having a single inlet opening leading both longitudinally from an end of the bodv and laterally from the side wall of the body.
6. An attachment plug comprising an insulating body, contacts mounted in said body, contact blades/connected with said contacts and projecting from one end of the body, the other end of the body being provided with means to allow engagement of similar projecting contact blades of another plug with. said contacts, said body being also provided with a passage for lead wires extending longitudinally thereof having a single inlet opening leading both laterally 'from a side wall of the plug and longitudinally fromthe end opposite to the projecting blades.
