This invention relatesto a card holding attachment for the platen of a typewriting machine. More particularly it relates to means whereby the device may be'easily attached to and removed from the machine, so as to permit the handling o other work hesides the typing upon cards. 5
According to this invention, the cardholding device is slipped into place, anchby means of suitable clamps, the same is positively locked against the axle oi the platen.

The card-holding device is illustrated in Figure 4 removed from the platen of the machine, and comprises a cross-piece 1O bent to conform with the curvature of the platen and extending the full width thereof.
