The tuning unit is in this instance represented as a variable condenser 17 the rotor vshaft of which is prof vided with a gear 18 meshing with `a half-sized gear 19 mounted on a stub-shaft 20, the latter projecting through the panel and carrying the dial 21. Said dial is here shown as being enclosed by a casing 22 which differs `from the casing shown in Figure 1 only inthe fact that the Windows 23 and 24 are provided on one .side of said casing7 t-his being the sole change necessitated by the fact of the complete rotation of the dial 421. It is apparentv that stations adjacent With respect to Wave length may be notated` in the dial consecutively in staggered order one being visible through the peripheral Window and the other through that Window adjacent the center of the dial.
In operation, a station having beenl tuned in, the name of the station is inscribed adjacent the end of the most vconvenient of the indicating pointers. l/Vhen it is desired vagain yto tune in upon the same station it is merely `necessary to move the dial until the inscribed name of the station is in its original position With respect to the indicating pointer. It is obvious that once the dial/has been inscribed with the names of stations previously tuned in, the combined dial and indieatdr` becomes a station selector' by means of Which stations may be efficiently tuned in by a single .setting of the dial with respect to the indicator, avoiding the uncertainty and guess-Work which is incidental to tuning in, as ordinarily practiced;

In radio apparatus, a station selector comprising a dial adapted to be mounted upon the rotor of a tuning unit, said dial havingla surface adapted to receivevvritten matter, and an indicator fiXedly mounted with respect to said dial having a space bridged by a pointer carrying member to form a. plurality of YWindows arranged side by side in a radial direct-ion, exposing the inscribedsurface of said dial in sequential portions, in peripheral and central Zones.

In radio apparatus, a station Yselector comprising a dial adapted to be mounted upon the rotor of a tuning unit, said dial having ay surface adapted to receive Written matter, and an indicator' lixedly mounted with respect to said dial having a. pluralityv of spaces arranged. diametrically, an equal number on each side of said dial, Vand pointer carrying members bridgingv spaces to form a plurality of Windows exposing the inscribed surface of the latter simultaneously upon opposite sides in peripheral and central zones.
