This invention relat'e'sto improvements in boats of the type in which a suitable motor is installed for propelling purposes. The propelling mechanism proper comprises in general, an endless chain which is located on the opposite sides of the boat to the alternate links of which are attached blades that engage the water for moving the boat forward or rearward. Located between the blades is a link which is formed with an opening to receive the teeth-of the driving gear wheels that are suitably geared to the motive power of the boat. I V
Devices for steering the boat are provided which comprises a drum around which is coiled a cable that extends to the opposite front sides of the boat. This cable is so connected and arranged as to simultaneously fan , teeth 8 and flat surface 8.
