AThis invention relates generally to the construction of a wall fitting'for supporting a curtain bar or the like.
A general object of the invention is to provide val fitting of the type described which can be anchored in position in a wall before the plaster is applied vand into which the curtain bar may beremovably fitted.
The invention includes a socket member Aadapted to be anchored in the wall structure bodiment of the invention hasbeen selected for illustration,

The fitting consists essentially of a cylindrical socket member 12 provided at one end with a bridge piece 13 in which is received an adjusting screw 14` that passes through an anchor plate 15 adapted torbe enclosed by the cement or plaster coating 16 which is applied'toonem surface of the core walls made up of the*l Y. Another feature of the invention resides blocks 10.

wardly beyond the opposite side of the core wall and 1s provided with a iange 17 adapted to lie against the face of the core wall opposite tothat to which the plaster coating 161s applied. In order to insure thatthe cylindrical socket member 12 is in a properly leveled condition, leveling screws 18 are provided'which pass through the flange member 17 and engage the surfaceof" the core blocks 10 so that theflangecan be squared or trued with the surface of the core wall. f j The outer face of the relatively thin diskshaped flange member 17 whichrests'against the surface of the core blocks 10 is provided with rib members 19 having an undercut or keystone-shaped section designed to anchor in place the engaged section of a plaster coat 2O which' is applied to the corresponding surfaceof the core wall as is clearly shown in Figure 1 of the drawing.
Following the application of the plaster coat 20 any desired wall finish may ybeproure 1 of` thedrawing.

The removability of the bar which is thus provided is also an advantageous featureinthat the bar can be removed in order torefinish. the same or `to be removed so that it will not interfere with painting or other operations conducted in the room in which itis used..

andthe adjacent end of the socket member extending through the plastic .coating to receive an end of the bar, said exposed portion ofthe socket member being provided with circumferential grooves to facilitate cutting oiiI the socket member to provide a desired lenoth of projection.

In' a supporting, device for curtain bars, a socket member adapted to extend throughy a perforation in a core element of a Wall under construction, an anchoring member -temeon .attached to the inner end of the socket member and adapted to be embedded in a plaster coating applied to the adjacent surface of the core element, the inner end of the socket member being threaded, a radially extend-` ing flange intermediate the ends of the socket member, said flange being adapted to engage the other surface of the core member and provided with adjusting screws for engaging the core element and thereby leveling the socket member, said flange being adapted to be covered by .a plaster coating and provided With undercut ribs to hold the plaster in place, said adjacent end of the socket member extending through the plaster coating and provided With perforations for use in anchoring an end of a curtain bar in place in the socket, and a guard member adapted to enclose the bar and cover the end of the socket member.
7. In a supporting device for curtainv 8. In a structure of the kind described, a Wall element having an opening therethrough, a body member extending through the opening, an anchor secured to one end of the body member, and resting against one face of the Wall, a `member extending laterally from the intermediate portion of the body and engaging the other face of the Wall, one of the Wall face engaging members being adjustable longitudinally of the body, and the other end of the body being formed With a rod engaging portion.
9. The combination set forth in claim 8, in which the rod engaging portion is a socket.
10. The combination set forth in claim 8, in Which the rod engaging portion is a socket having an aperture in its Wall.
11. The combination set forth in claim 8, in which the second named Wall face engaging member is integral .With the body, While the other Wall face engaging member is the adjustable one. c
l2. The combination set forth in claim 8, in Which the second named Wall face engaging member is integral with the body and is provided With levelingv screws.
