LOUIS O. BOUCHARD, F PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA.
DECORATIVE WREATH.
Application lcd July 8, 1926. Serial No. 121,125;
The principal object of the present invention is to provide a decorative Wreath or like structure which consists essentially of paper and which may be produced in solid or varying colors including metallic effects and which while extremely decorative, bushy and attractive can be supplied at a comparatively low price.
Other objects of the invention will appear from tlie following description at the end of which theinvention will be claimed but the invention will be first described in connection With the embodiment of it chosen for illustration in the accompanying ydrawing forming part hereof and in which- Figure 1 is a, diagrammatic view illustrative of the structure of the wreath.
Fig. 2 is a similar view and may be regarded as a cross-section of Fig. 1.
Fig. 3 is an end view after the strips shown in Fig. 1 have been twisted, and
Fig. 4 is a view of a Wreath.
In the drawing 1 is anumber of strips or plies, 2 is a wire inserted 'between them, and 3 is a double line of stitching straddling the wire and securing the strips or plies together. Merely 'by way of explanation and not limitation there may be eighteen plies, more or less, and they may be of crepe or plain paper of the same or of different colors and they may be of metal foil. The strips between the cuts to curl.
The ends of the Wire 3 are joined together and -a loop 5 is provided. The strips or plies are then twisted around the wire so that a. bushy appearance is imparted to the structure.
ca ses where diferent colors are employed this produces a mottled or indistinc-t pattern effect which is quite attractive, for example if seventeen of the plies or strips shoul happen 'to be green and one red, there is produced a wreath which viewed from' a little distance closel 1 claim:
y simulates a holly wreath.
A wreath/comprising?, plurality of superposed strips of paper aving between them a wire' and having two rows of stitches e'xtending through the plies or strips and straddling the wire, the wire being of ring form and the strips or plies being notched or out herring-bone fashion and twistedv on the wire.
