The invention consists in the provision of a ventilator ot the character aforesaid comprising; an arcuate casing applied to the root ot a niotor vehicle, or other enclosure, and wherein the curved top ot the casina` is formed 'ivith a plurality ot iiXed air inlet and outlet openings., beneath which is araneed an arch or haiti-le Wall which is interposed between the flue of the ventilator and the inlet and outlet openings in the arcuate top oi' the c; ingr, the arrangement being;` such that the movement oil` the vehicle will set up air circulation within the ventilator producing' induced drafts hy means oit which the vitiatet air et the enclosure is positively drawn through the outlet flue ot the ventilator and diflfcharged to the atmosphere.

ln the present forni ol.2 the invention the ventilator includes an arcuate top Stof substantially arched or convex coni'iguration. .lhis top is provided adjacent to the center thereof with a plurality oi circular outlet openings 10, and adjacent to the openings 10, the top 9 is `termed to include slots 11. which are protected by hoods 12, .integral With the top .9,so that the hoods will he open alone` one side thereof only, as shoivn in Figure Beneath the top 9 and located Within the ventilator there is mounted a baille Wall 13. rlhis Wall is also of arched construction to correspond with the ,urvature `vof the top 9, and the ends of the Wall 113 are secured by inea s oi' bracket pieces 11i to the vert-ical sides 15 ot the top 9. Centrally of its length the Wall 185 immediately beneath the openings 1 0, is provided with a substantially J shaped rib 16 Which extends transversely beneath the under side ot the top 9. By reference to Figure 3 it will be observed that the Width ot the Wall 13 is materially less than that of the top 9, so that air circulation spaces 17 Will be provided around the side edle'es of the wall 13 and the inner surfaces of the sides 15. The sides 15 in this instance have their eXtreme lower edges slightly spaced as at 18 `from the upper adjacent surfaces ot the plate 4e so as to produce outlet openings hy means or" which Water or moisture is discharged from within the ventilator.
ln operation, it Will he observed that Lvl-ien the vehicle, upon which the ventilator is mounted is moving7 in a certain direction air ivill be forced through the hoods 12 on the lelt side ot is re rl`his in passing; through the ventilator strikes thelivall 13., and is deflected by the rib 16 outwardly through the openings 1 0. around the edges of the vfall 1B by ot the spaces 1.7 and then forced through the openings 10. Also, the hoods 12 on the right hand side oi' Figure 2 are used to dispel the vitiated air. Thus, due to the direction oi ii'iovement ot' the vehicle a suction eii'ect is produced in the slots 11 provided in the hoods 12 shown on the right side et yFigure 2. This suction is utilized to dran' the air through the flue and to release the saine through said last named hoods. Due to the construct-ion ot' the ventilator the saine is readily operative regardless et the direction oitl movement oi the vehicle. rihe baille wall 13 is arranged immediately beneath the openings inthe top 9, and over the open upper end ot the tine 7. Vilus the Wall 1.3 serves to prevent water or mois ture entering the ventilator trein reachingI the tiue and then the interior of the vehicle. The collar G provided' at the ripper end of the flue also acts as a trap to prevent Water or moisture in the bottoni of the ventilator Due to the openings 18 Water accumulation vfitliin the ventilator is readily and freelyv discharged. lt vill be observed that the preent invention provides a ventilator ot simple construction, eliminating movable and adjustable parts, is loiv in height so as not to interfere Wit-li vehicle operation or overhead clearance and is oi" such design as to avoid marring or interfering with the general ont lines of the vehicle to vrliicli itis applied.
Vhat is claimed is:
1. A ventilator oi `the class described, )comprising a hollow sheet metal body including a substantially ilat base and an arcuate top, said top having a discharge outlet located substantially in the center thereof, open sided hoods provided in' connection with said top and arranged on opposite sides oi: said outlet, a baille Wall ai'- ranged Within said ventilator and arranged beneath said hoods, the ends oi: said baitle being disposed in spaced relation t'roin the side Walls oi said ventilator7 and a longitudinally extending, inverted V shaped rib provided at the center oit' said battle and neath said hoods and outlet.
