IMPROVEMENT IN HOUSEMAIDS PAILS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 160,500, dated March 2, 1875; application filed November 2, 1874.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known I, EMMA G. Woosrnn, of New York, in the county and State of New York, have invented an Improved Housem aids Pail and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference beinghad to the accompanying drawing forming part of this specification.
My invention consists in a pail having a surrounding pan or circular trough attached to its bottom to prevent slopping, and provided with a soap-dish and a brush-receptacle, for holding a piece of soap and a scrubbing-brush, so that the drippings therefrom will run into the trough.
The accompanying drawin grepresen ts a perspective view of my invention.
The pail A may be of any suitable construction and material.
At the bottom of the pailis a circular trough, B, extending entirely around the bottom of the pail, and projecting sufficiently far from the periphery of the pail to catch the water which may slop over the edge, and prevent it from running to the floor, or wherever the pail may be placed.
The trough may be formed by attaching to the bottom of the pail a pan with sloping sides, or by attaching the lower edge of a strip of metal to the lower edge of the periphery.
