These vanes are shown as equally spaced,
but this is not essential. While the vanes are shownas integral with the sleeve it is within the scope of the invention to form thein otherwise. M i
The-vanes have fiat vertical outer edges 12 which function as scrapers when the detlc'ctor is rnoved vertically in the casing. The ends 13 of the vanes are rounded so as to obviate sharp carriers which would catch; also the rounded corners facilitate the entrance of the deflector into the casing. I have shown four vanes, the number is subject to. variation.

2. The combination with 'a tubing catcher having a resiliently sustained weight, of a fluid deflector comprising a sleeve and a helical channel outside of said sleeve, said sleeve being mounted on said-catcher below the weight thereof for deflecting fluid in advance of said weight as said catcher moves downwardly in the well.

5. The combination with a tubing catcher having a resiliently sustained'weight, of a fluid deflector mounted on said catcher below the weight thereof and having a plu rality of helical vanes on its outer surface, each vane extending vertically and forming with the other vanes helical channels open at their upper and lower ends for deflecting a fluid into streams in advance of said weight as the catcher moves downward in the well.
6. The combination with a tubing catcher having a resiliently sustained weight, of a fluid deflector comprising a central sleeve, and a plurality of helical vanes disposed vertically on said sleeve, said sleeve being attached to the lower end of the catcher below the weight thereof for deflecting the fluid into streams in advance of said weight as the catcher moves downward in the well.
7. The combination with a tubing catcher having a resiliently sustained weight, of a deflector comprising a central sleeve, an d a plurality of helical vanes disposed vertically in said sleeve and having outer scraping edges, said sleeve being attached to the catcher below said weight for deflecting the fluid into streams and scraping the paraflin from the walls of the well in advance of the weight.
8. The combination with a tubing catcher having a resiliently sustained Weight, of a deflector comprising a centrai sleeve, and a plurality of helical vanes disposed vertically in said sleeve and having flat outer scraping edges, said sleeve having a downwardly extending collar attached to the catcher below said weight for deflecting the fluid into streams and scrapingthe parafiun from the walls of the well in advance of the'weight.
In testimony whereof I afix my signature.
