FINGER RING.
Application filed September 11, 1925. Serial No, 55,660.
The present invention has for its particular objects; the provision of an improved finger ring having relatively movable sections whereby the ornamental design of the ring may be varied at will; the provision of a finger ring having means to vary the arrangement of jewel mountings disposed on.
the ring; the provision of a finger ring having relatively movable sections provided with means for retaining the sections against accidental movement; and generally to provide a novel and improved finger ring construction.
Drawings.
Description.
In detail the invention comprises a flat band ring 10 of gold or other suitable precious metal having integrally formed thereon .at one edge an upstanding annular flange 11 disposed at a right angle to the band 10. Rigidly secured to the band 10 at the opposite side edge is a ring section 12 having a series of spaced jewels 13 mounted in its periphery, which periphery may be provided with any suitable ornamentation.
The jewel carrying ring section 12 is preferably substantially square in cross section with its inner edge 14 terminating substantially midway between the flange 11 and the opposite side edge of the ring band 10. In the channel thus formed between the flange 1.1 and the ring section 12 a movable ring section 15 is mounted in such manner that-it may be rotated over the band 10. The movable section 15 is also provided with jewels 16 in the outer face thereof, which may also be provided with suitable ornamentation.
The movable ring section 15 is also preferably square in cross section filling the channel between the flange 11 and stationary sect-ion 12. The meeting faces of the sections 12 and 15 are milled to provide fine coarse serrations 17 for interengagement normally to hold the removable ring section 15 against rotation.
As illustrated in Figure 3 the ring sections are shown disposed in a fixed relation of the jewels carried by the sections whereby to provide a certain design. It is apparent that upon rotation of the ring section 15 the jewels 16 may be varied relative to the jewel 13 whereby a different design is produced. The peripheral faces of the ring sections terminate flush with the edge of the flange 11 providing a neat compact ring construction wherein the design of the ring may be varied to suit the taste of a wearer.
In the modified form illustrated in Fig-' ure 4 the band 10 has secured to its edge opposite the flange 11 a stationary ring section '0 between which and the flange 11 are disposeda plurality of movable ring sections a and b. In this form of the invention each of the ring sections a, b, and c has secured to the periphery thereof ajeweled bar mount which extends transversely across all three ring sections. The stationary ring section 0 has the intermediate bar mount 2 rigidly secured thereon and extending over the ring sections a: and b which rotate therebeneath over the band 10. The upper mount 1 is secured to the ring section a while the bar mount 3 is secured to the ring section 6, whereby the mounts 1 and 3 may be rotated around the ring for movement relative to the center mount 2, whereby a varied design or grouping of the jewel mountings may be secured at will.
Claim.
1. A finger ring comprisinga finger band, an upstanding flange formed on one edge thereof and integral therewith, a stationary annular ring section rigidly secured to the periphery of said band adjacent the opposite edge thereof, a movable annular ring sect-ion rotatably mounted over said hand between said flange and stationary ring section with the peripheries of said sections and flange being flush, and interengagrng 2. A finger ring comprlsing a flat annular finger band having an upstanding flange formed at one edge thereof and integral therewith, a stationary annular ring section rigidly secured on said band at the-opposite edge thereof and extending across half the Width of said band, and a movable annular 1 ring section rotatable over said band between said stationary section and flange, one of said sections having a serrated side face for engaging the adjacent face of the other of said sections for retaining said movable 15 section in adjusted position.
