ICE HOLDER.
Ap11lic.tion filed March 5, 1925.
This invention relates to new end useful improvements in an ice holder.
One objeet of tl1e invention is to provide an ice holder, of the charaoter desomhed, speoially adapted 130 be seeured 011 a veh1cle running board, end designe d to hold a block ol' ice, or other similar ob ects seourely on said running board.
Another object of the invenhon 1s to provide a iee holder which mey be eae'ily end cheaply produced, end easily apphed, end one whlch is very efieetive ior the purpose intended.
lVieh the above end other objeets in view, thls invention has particular relation to 0ertain novel features of construction, arrangement of parts end use, an example of wh1ch is given in this speeification, anal illustrated in fhe aoeompanying drawings, wherei n Figure 1 shows a fragmentary side vlew 0f an automobile, showing the holder applied to the running board thereof.
Figure 2 shows a plan view o1": the holder. Figure 3 shows an edge view thereof, partly in section.
' Figure 4 shows a plan vlew of the se curing holt head, end
Figure 5 shows a fragmentary side v1ew of the securing holt employed. 1
Referrlng IlOW more particularly to the drawings, wherein lil e nu1nerals of reference clesignate si1nilar parts in each of the figures, che nu1nerel 1 designates tl1e vehiele, es a whole end the numeral 2 designates the run 35 ning boarcl on which there is a holder plate S, 15referably of metal end reetangular in form. This plate has the end openings l, 4, nligned with sin1ilar openings, as 5 through the running board. These openings are provided to receive the securing holte 6, 6. The lower ende of these holte are threeded to reboard.
The upper ends of these bolts ha=ve lilre heads 8, 8', WlllCh rest against the plate 3,
lneee heads have the upwardly projectin si1 arp teeth 9 9, o1" any desired forrn. b In use the block of ice is placed on Ehe plate 3 and the teeth 9 bite into the block anal hold the sonne securely in place, while the plate serves to prorect the running board.
VVhat 1 claim is:- t
l. A holder -iricluding a plate adepted to l1e 011 a vehicle running board end provicled Wllll an openingr, a holt passing' through said op ening end adapted to pass, also, through sa1d running board, an enlarged heed formed wlth a sharp projecsing todth, on one end of the boltund olamp nut 011 the otl1er end 01" the holt end disposed to clamp the plate on the running loozud.
2. A holder ineluding a plete adapted to l1e on a vehicle running hoerd end provided Wltll a plurality of openings bolts passing through seid openings and adapted o pesl also, through ehe running bozrrd, end enlarged head 011 ehe upper end of euch holt end adapted to ahnt seid plate, end projecting tooth earried by eaeh holt end a nur. on the other end of eaeh holt 3. The combinaion with the running hoard of a motor vehicle of a holt passinlr iherethrough having one end enlafged form lng e head which engages the up1ier slde ol the runninp; hoard threads carrie l by the name.
