This invention relates to hydrocarbon motors, and particularly to mixture and supplying means therefor. .l
The invention is particularly adapted to a motor/having a combustion device or fuelizer which has a suction line, and one oil the objects of the invention is to control the carburetor mixture by thev suction oi said combustion device.

Referring to ,the drawings, 10 is a portion of cylinder casting of a hydrocarbon motor and 11 is the intake pipe leading thereto. The intake pipe is shown as divided into two 30 passages 12 and 13 andat its lower end a carburetor 14 is connected to it. The carburetor comprises the usual oat chamber 15, main air intake 16, auxiliary air intake 17 and a throttle valve 1S of butterly form..

Connected to a suitable part of the intake manifold 11, preferably above the throttle i v18, isa combustion device orheater;v seine` 4o times called a uelizef It comprises a combustion chamber 21 in the form of a jacket around part of the intake header with a screened inlet opening at 22, one or more outlets 23, into the intake pipe above 45 the throttle valve, and a spark plug 2li, for tiring the mixture in the chamber. AThe suction line of the combustion device extends from its inlet 22, in the form of piping and 26 to one end of the shaft of the 50 'throttle valve 18. The throttle valve shaft is shown inFig. 2 and is indicated at 27, It is drilled longitudinally as at 28 and a port 29 extends downwardly when the throttle valve is in its closed position forming V -as shown in Fig. 1. The outer end of thepassage 28 communicates with the interior of the pipe 26 so that when the throttle ie closed, since the outlets 23 of the combustion device are above the throttle valve, mixture may be drawn through the port 29, passage v28, pipes 25 and 26 and inlet 22 to the coni-a bustion chamber where it will be iired by the spark plug 24. The burnt products of coin bustion Wiil pass into the intel-re pipe i?. and heat the mixture as it is drawn into the motor.
It is sometimes desired to weaken the miro ture of the carburetor for certain running conditions without aecting the idling oi? the motor or the full throttle opening condition if oi the motor. The present invention templates the use or' the lsuction line' oi the combustion device for controlling,- the .mixture of the carburetor in this respect'. The outer end of this port 3a cono.- municates with the atmosphere through cross passage and a pipe 36, which 'latter extends to a drain pipe, which also conn nects with the lower part of the main intake 1 6 of the carburetor so that 'fi gasoline overflow or condensation that accumulate inthese pipes will be drained to the ground Where it will cause no harm.
