This invention relates to the care of vegetation.

This invention has utility in connection with the training and care of plants.

In loose soil 1 may be inserted riser 2 shown herein as connected by cross bar 3 completing the standard of U-torm. Sheet metal clips 4 are designed for conveniently snapping around the standard or risers by spring guide lips 5 passing thereabout. These guide lips 5 are shown as terminating in beads or guides 6 as seats extending parallel to each other and parallel as to the riser 2.

In the simple single riser embodiment, or, even with the double riser embodiment, the pair of seats 6 may be entered by ofsets 7 on a bow 8, which bow 8 is readily placed in position about a single stalk and the offsets 7 are then allowed to slip into seats 6 of the clip l. This clip t is sustained by clip gripping of the riser or standard. The length of the seats 6 in the extent of the clip 4 is such that the offset 7 engaged therewith is in position to sustain this how or stalk holder against tilting. Accordingly, the clip is fully sustained by mounting on the standard or riser and the bow is fully sustained independent of the standard but directed by the clip.

may be engaged by an offset 7 of a conneoting bow member 9. The holder or training device may be completed by a see end such bow member 9 thereby effecting full embracing of a stalk or stalks of the plant.

In practice, many shoots or stalks grow at a different rate than others and sometimes a shoot late to start will grow much more rapidly. In greenhouse production of plants the temperature is usually kept very low, in order to determine just the time of bloom for the flowers. This means that the stalk is quite brittle. Accordingly, in the care of the stalk, it will not stand any bending. lVith a device as herein shown, any such stray stalk may be conveniently put into the training or embracing holder by gating in, that is, by merely lifting one of the oilsets out of the clip and thus opening the gate by swinging the how 9 out. Then with the other hand the attendant may gradually easily thrust or shove the stray stalk into the embracing region and close the gate.

lVhat is claimed and it is desired to secure by Letters Patent is:

1. A vegetation holder embodying a standard, a spring clip of folded sheet material form having intermediate its extent opposing seats for frictionally engaging the standard to maintain itself in position as to the standard, said clip being provided with terminal beads forming upwardly open seats, and a vegetation guide means having offsets to he slipped dosvn into the clip seats in mounting said means.

2. A vegetation holder embodying an inverted U-shaped standard, clips carried by the legs of the standard, and half ring holders removably mounted in the clips and connecting the clips.
