In the operation of. the marbleshooter, the player assumes a stooping position substantially as. shown-in Fig. 1, and with the foot 21 ofthe plate 18 bearing .on the ground, exerts a downward pressure on the handle 6. Tl1e magazine and the projecting member 12 will thus move downwardly as a unit relative to the plate 18 and the inclined or cam portion 26 of the member 12 riding upon the angularl end 25 of the trip member 23 causes the lower angular end of said member to be withdrawn from beneath the marbles in they magazine so that the lower marble falls down and rests upon the base plate 7. This position of the parts is substantially that shown in dotted lines in Fig. .3 of the drawings, and it will be obv-ious 7 that when the member 12 is .thus sprung latorally it is placed under considerable tension. so that when the campart 26 of said member moves .below the end 25. of the 4trip 23, said member immediately returns to its normal position and the lower end 14 thereof passing inwardly through .the opening 15 .in the'wall of the magazine, strikes the lower marble M and forcibly projects the same .through .the opening .9. towards the objective.

l In this 4projection of .the marble, the lower ends. of the wires 10l readily yield or spring apart so that .they .oi'er no appreciable resistance to the projecting force. When. the 4.player lifts the handle 6 with the magazine and the projecting member 12 relative to the plate 18, the inwardly projecting bend or cam part, in .the wire member 12 lifts .the

From the foregoingdescription .considered in connection with the accompanyi-ngdrawings, .the .construction and manner .of operation .of myv improved :marble shooter will .be clearly-.and fully iunderstood. It will .be seen-.that I have .produced a device which may be .expeditiously .operated .with va high .degree vof accuracy Vand which .eliminates .the necessity of the player .kneeling .or placing his .hand containing the marble upon :the ground. Also by reason of the fact .that a comparatively large number .of .the marbles .may be contained in .the'magazina the .marbles may .be expelled .or projected therefrom in rapid succession. The handle .f6 may .be readil .removed ordetached from the upper .end o. the magazine -or l.the .purpose of reloading the latter. In viewoi; the relatively simple form andr construction. ci the several parts yof the device, it will likewise be appreciated that such. an article may be manufactured economically and retailed at a relatively low price.

` I have herein described an embodiment of improved Ymar-ble shooter which I believe to be entirely practical, but it will nevertheless, be understood that the device is; susceptible oimany minor modifica-tions in the form, construction and relative arrangement of its several parts, and I therefore, reservethe privilege or resorting-to all such 'legitimate changes as mayy be fair-ly embodied within. the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed I claim;

1. 2. A marble shooter comprising a .magazine for the -marbleshaving an opening at its lower end through which the marbles are .adapted-to be projected, means vieldingly .resisting movement of themarbles through said opening, a -niovable projecting member mounted on the magasine and having a part normally `disposed beneath the series oi vmarbles to support the same in superposed relation therein, a plate `having a foot portion adapted for engagement with the ground, guide means on said .magazine movably engaged by said plate, a trip member -pivotally mountednpon said plate and having a part .coacting therewith to limit the .pivotal movement .of said member toits nor-- mal position, and said projecting member having a cam, part .engaging the trip member in the downward movement ofthe magazine relative to said .plate whereby said projecting member is actuated to permit downward movement Vof the .marbles in the magazine and to project .the lowermost marble l from the opening in the wall odi said magazine.
