This invention relates to a policemans baton or night st-ick and aims to provide 4means carried by the night `stick to permit the night stick to be locked to the Wrist a person under arrest to securely hold the prisoner.
' Another ob]` ect of the invention is to provide a device of this character which may be twisted by the policeman to subdue the captive.
A still further object of the invention is the provision of a device of this character which may be adjusted to properly clamp around the Wrist of a captive.
Vtlith the foregoing and other objects in view which Will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in the conibination and arrangement of parts andfiiiV the details of construction hereinafter de`V scribed and claimed, it beingr understood that changes'in the precise embodiment of the invention herein disclosed, may be madey within the scope of what is claimed, Without departing from the spirit of the invent-ion.- eferring to the drawing: y Figure l is a side elevational viewof a night stick constructed in accordance with the invention. f

Referring` to the drawing in detail, the reference dharacter 5 indicates the nightv stick or baton, the handle port-ion thereofbeing fornied With a central cut out portion extending throughout the length of lthe haudlc portion.
This cut out portion accommodates the link or clamping Aarm 6 which is pivotally supported between the side sections of the handle, which are formed by the cut outAv portion thereof.
The' reference character 7 indicates ther pivot pin on which the link 6 is pivotally is a longitudinal sectional vieiv supported, and as shown, the link 6 is curved `and provided Without out portions providing teeth 8 inthe outer edge thereof at' a point adjacent tothe free end ofthe link, which teeth are' adapted to be engaged by the latch member 9 of the lock 10 to hold the link member 6 against movement when it has been inovedtoitsactiveposition or a vposition clamped` around the Wrist of a captive as shown 'oy Figure 2 of the drawinif and `to 'further strengthen thevdevice, plates In order to provide avclose ht hetiveen the Vlink 6 and handle portion of the baton 11a-re provided andsecured to the Walls of the cutout portion of thehandle by means of the rivet 7. The lock is provided with the usual keyhole for the insertion ofk av suitable keyr to permit the latch member to be moved to itsinactive position and release the link 6.
