, AssIGNoR To'MoRRIs BERNHARD oo., orl
NEW YORK, N. Y., A CORPORATION '0F-NEW YORK.
,ADJUSTABLE ORNAMENT Application filed November 'o all lw/Lo'm/ t may concern.'
Be it known that I, MoRRIs BERNHARD, a. citizen of the UnitedStates, and a resident of the city of New York, borough of Manhattan, in the county and State of New York, United States of America.,.have invented a new and Improved Adjustable Ornament forvDrapery Tie Backs, of which the following is a full, cleaiyand exact description. Y
rlhis'invention has relation to draperies land has particular reference to tiebacks therefor which are provided wi-th ornaments.
Heretofore it has been the general practice to permanently secure the ornament to the tie-back cord, thereby'preventin-g the shifting of the ornament with respect to the cord to. various positions in accordance with the desire of the decorator.
It is, therefore, the. outstandingobject of the present invention to loosely mount the ornament on the tie-back cord so that the same may be adjusted longitudinally thereof to suit the taste.
The invention furthermore comprehends an adjustable ornament for drapery tiebacks which is extremely simple, does not y materially addl to the cost of production, and which is highly effective in its purpose.
lVith the above recited and othery objects structed in accordance with the invention and illustrating respectively in full and FOR rDRI'UERY TIE BACKS.
1s, 1924. seri-a1 No. 750,685.
dotted lines the rornament in its adjusted positions.
Fig. 2 isa view of the tie-backremoved from the drapery.
Fig` 3 is a sectional view taken approximately on the line indicatedat 3-'3 in Fig. 2. y
Referring to the drawings by characters of reference, l0 designates a tie-back cord of the usual constructiony and 11 an ornament therefor, which ornament is provided with a looped portion orelement 12 for slidably associating' said ornament with the tie-back cord whereby the same may be longitudinally adjusted thereon and frictionally maintained in its adjust'edposition.
From the foregoing construction it will be seen that the Lornament may be arranged either at the inner secured end of the. tieback cord as illustrated in dotted linesy in Fig. l, at the outer bight portion of the tie-v back cord as illustrated in dotted lines ink Fig. 1,'01' in .an intermediate position as illustrated in full lines in Fig. l, and this without the necessity ofy having to unstitch the ornament and restitch the'same at the place desired. 1
I claim:
y1. A Vdrapery tie-back comprising a tieback cord, andan ornament mounted on the cord for longitudinal adjustments.v
- 2. A drapery tie-back, an ornament forV said tie-back, and means of connection between the tie-back andornament for permitting of longitudinal adjustment of the ornament on thetie-back. n f
3. A drapery tie-back, an ornament for said tie-back, and means of connection be# tween 4the tie-back and ornament for permitting of longitudinal adjustment of the ornament on the tie-back, said means comprising a loop on the ornament embracing the tie back and frictionally engaging the same to maintain itself in adjusted posi` tion on the cord.
