Application inea lumen 5, 1921-. serial No. 449,666.
Be it known that I, HERMAN RfHiN'rz,
of Ohio, have` invented anew and y,useful Plncers, of which the following 1s a speci-l fication f This invention relates to pliers or pincers and especially to pincers adaptedfor vuse .by shoe makers and the like for removing lifts from heels. V Y Y Y .The objects of the' invention are' the provision of pincers comprising` a pair of jaws provided with staggered teeth, means being provided for adjusting theclosing movement` `of thejaws to limit the same asdesired. v
With these objects in view, ,the invention consists in the construction and arrangement offparts'hereinafter described and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, it being understood thaty various changes in Athe form and details of construction 'may be` made within the .scope of ythe appended claims.
The invention thus set forth in general termsV is illustrated in the accompanyingv drawings forming part hereof, in wh1ch`V Figure 1 is a side elevation of pincers embodying the invention,- y Fig. 2, an edge elevation of the same, Fig.l 3, van end elevation of the pincers,
and l Fig. 4 is a fragmentary' edgeview of the-v device showing a modified form of the invention.
is illustrated in theaccompanying drawings in which similar numerals represent corre-v sponding. parts l'throughout the several views.
The pincers comprise a pair of jaws land 2 provided with the integral handles 3 and 4f respectively, which are hingedly connected 4together by means of the pin 5. Thehandle may be provided Vwith a tack puller, .as, shown at G, if desired, althoughl this 'feature forms no part of the present invention.
Each of' the jaws is provided-.with teeth 7, these teeth being preferably stagby Aadjusting the disk.
, tion.
' A'practical j embodiment of the` invention any well known lform of teeth or serrations j V.being adaptable for use upon the jaws.
' a citizen of the United States, residing at Massillon, intheV countyoi Stark and State For lthe purpose ofz spacing the teeth upon opposite jaws, whenthe pinc'ers are in fthe closed .'position, means vare provided for limiting the closing movement of the jaws,
this means being illustrated v in the drawing Y l.
as an eccentricl Idisk "8 mounted upon kthe handle t, a rivet 9 being shown asthe means,
for pivotally mounting the disk upon the handle and frictionally'holding thesamel in any desired adjustment.
As shown inkl? ig. {1,it willv beseenrtl'iatr'r the handle- 8 engaging the periphery-of 'the' d1sk 8, prevents V'further vclosing' movement potthejaws, andas/the disk is eccentrically mounted, this "movement may be regulated As thcdisk 8fis -l u 'frictionally 1nounted,by means of the rivet fi 9, the disk will remain in In Fig.
mounted uponthe screw 92a Vwing nut 9b being provided for easily and quickly ad? -justing the .disk to any desired position.-
From the above descriptionA and the acl companying drawings, itwill be seenv that pincersl arey provided which are 'especially' 'adaptable for use-in the' repairing of shoes,
