Enema United States, and resident of State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in, Belt Buckles, of which the'following is aspeci- -The present invention relates to belt buckles and more particularly to the type in which one end of abelt is connected to a clamping means on a buckle frame so that v. the tension on the belt tends to {hold the clamping member firmly against the free end of the belt. An object of this invention isto provide a clamping member which is so formed that it ordinarily adapts itself to belts of diiferentthicknesses. I

In the illustrated embodiment of the invention, there is provided a buckle frame, in this instance, in the form of a front plate 1, forming a rear clamping surface curved both longitudinally and transversely. Of course, the amount of movement of this slide depends upon the thickness of the belt. The release of the belt end is effected by swinging the bail or anchoring member on its pivot to carry the clamping member away from the clamping surface on the belt frame. Y
