To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HERMENEGILDO AR- RUGA, a citizen of Spain, and residing at Barcelona, Spain,ghave invented a new and useful Illuminating Device (for which I have filed an application in GermanyzA'ugust 2, 1923), of which the following is a specification.
The present invention relates to that kind jof illuminating devices for any apparatus, destined for examininr the eye, in which a diaphragm is dispose between a source of light and a collective. lens system and whereby: the latter serves for imaging the diaphragm into the interior of the eye to be-examined. When usin such an illuminating device only a sma portion of the retina is illuminated at any one time and the observer is obliged to move the illuminated spot over. the retina. This can be :very easily effected in the lateral direction it the whole illuminating device be rotatable ,in a horizontal plane. In the height-direc- ;t1on, however, it 'is not easyto do this if (as it has alreadybe'en carried out) the whole illuminating device can'be tilted in a vertical plane.
