Be it known that I, Gnonen I-InenMAn I'IART, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of West Hartford, in the county of Hartford, State of Connecticut, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Electric Switches, of which the following is a specification. p
This invention relates to electric switches, for instance, of the type having a plurality of terminals mounted on a base, a rotatable switch blade or blades, and means for rotating the switch blade or blades for throwing the same into and out of engagement with the terminals. v
The invention relates, more particularly, to the manner in which the terminals are associated with the base, and the aim of the invention is to provide an improved and novel arrangement by means of which the terminals are very effectively, economically and securely anchored to the base, the arrangement being such that each terminal cannot, in any way whatsoever, change its relation to the base, the terminals being held against turning or canting movements in all directions.
Other objects will be in part obvious and in part pointed out more in detail hereinafter.
The invention accordingly consists in the features of construction, combination of elenents and arrangements of parts which will be exemplified in the construction hereinafter set forth, and the scope of the application of which will be indicated in the appended claims.
In the accompanying drawings, wherein I have shown, for illustrative purposes, one embodiment which the present invention mayctake, it being understood that this disclosure is by way of illustration only and that the invention is susceptible of various modifications and changes:

The upper arm 17 may also have a tapped hole 18 to receive a screw 19 by means of which the lead wires are connected to the terminal.
In accordance with the present invention, each terminal is provided with a pair of laterally extending and oppositely disposed ears or lugs, and the sides of the grooves 10 have recesses or depressions adapted to re ceive the respective lugs. In the present illustrative disclosure, one of the arms, by areference the upper arm 17, is provided with such projections or lugs designated by the numeral 20, and the notches or recesses which receive these grooves and which are designated by the numeral 21, are provided at each side of a groove 10 in the upper surface of the circular flange of the base. It will be noted from the drawings, that the lugs 20 fit more or less closely in the recesses or notches 21 and are seated against the bottoms of these recesses. With this arrangement, it will be observed that the terminals are very securely anchored in place and held against movement relative to the base in all directions. More particularly the terminals are held against a rotary movement and they are maintained by the interengaging lugs and recesses against canting or tilting laterally, all of which means that the contacts of the terminals will be held at all times-very rigidly in proper alinement with the switch blade or blades,
