J. J. WELLENHOFFER NURSING BOTTLE HOLDER Filed Sept. 9. 1924 WITNESSES INVENTO R fla 9 4mg 11/. h ellfizzizaf r ATTORNEYS Patented Feb. 2, 1926.
UNITED STATES JOHN J. WELLENHOFFER, OF SALAMANCA, NEW YORK.
NURSING-BOTTLE HOLDER.
Application filed September 9, 1924. Serial No. 736,722.
To aZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOHN J. VVELLEN- HOFFER, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Salamanca, in the county of Cattaraugus and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Nursing- Bottle Holder, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
The present invention relates to new and useful improvements in supports, and it pertains more particularly to a nursing-bottle holder.
It is one of the primary objects of the invention to provide a device which will support a nursing bottle in an inclined position in order that the contents of the bottle may be more readily extracted therefrom.
It is a further object of the invention to provide a device of this character which will permit of ready attachment and removal of the bottle.
It is a further object of the invention to provide a device of this character which can be manufactured and sold at a reasonably low price, which will have long life, and which will efficiently perform the functions for which it was intended.
WVith the above and other objects in view, reference is had to the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a perspective view of a device constructed in accordance with the present invention and showing the same attached to a nursing bottle;
Fig. 2 is a view in elevation of the device.
he device comprises a single length of wire bent into circular form as at 5, and at its meeting ends 6 two arms 7-'? are pro vided, which arms project inwardly of the circle 5 and in parallelism with each other and are subsequently bent in opposite directions as at 8, to provide bottle-receiving members 99. A spring 10 is employed for retaining the bottle within the bottle-receiving members. The bottle-receiving members 99 are provided on their free ends with hooks 11, and the spring 10 is formed on each'end with an eye 12 adapted to receive the hooks of its respective bottle-receiving member.
In use, a nursing bottle designated by the reference numeral 15, is placed between the bottle-receiving members 9, as shown in Fig. 1, with the spring 10 embracing the bottle.
lVhen employing the bottle, the same is tipped upon the circular member 5 as shown in Fig. 1 and the circular member 5 serves to support the bottle in the tipped position during the use thereof.
From the foregoing it is apparent that the present invention provides a device for holding nursing bottles in tilted position in order that the contents thereof may be readily drained, and, further, the device provides means whereby the bottle may be readily attached to and detached from the holder. Thus it is seen that all of the objects of the present invention have been accomplished, and, further, it should be understood that numerous modifications of structure might readily be resorted to without in the least departing from the scope of the claims.
hat is claimed is:
1. A device of the character described comprising a substantially circular member having a pa r of radial inwardly-projecting arms, said arms being bent in opposite directions to.provide a nursing-bottle holder, and means associated with said nursingbottle holding arms for retaining a nursing bottle therein.
2. A device of the character described comprising two substantially circular members arranged one within and spaced from the other, the inner member being expansible to receive and hold a nursing-bottle and the outer member forming a nursing-bottle support.
3. A device of the character described comprising an outer circular member, and an inner resilient circular member concentric therewith and spaced therefrom, said resilient member being adapted to receive and hold a nursing-bottle within and spaced from the outer circular member.
4. A. device of the character described comprising an outer circular member, a plurality of arms projecting radially inwardly therefrom, said arms being bent in opposite directions to provide curved nursing-bottle holding members, said eireular member, said arms and said nursing-bottle holder being forn'ied from a single piece of material, and
5 a spring secured to and connecting the bottie holding men'ibers.
5. A device of the character described,
comprising a. circular member having a pair oi? adjacent inwardly )rojeeting' arms, the ends of which terminate in oppositely disposed curved and resilient bottle holding members.
JOHN J. WELLENHOFFER.
