A further object of the invention is to.
provide a bank book of this character adapted rincipally for use in connection with mac lines designed to be controlled by banks and similar institutions and to be installed at various places for enabling depositors to deposit coins of various amounts and to receive credits in bank books without necessitating the depositors going to a bank.
Another object of the invention is to rovide a bank book of this character w ich will enable relatively small deposits of coins of different-dimensions to be quickly and accurately made and receipted for, thereby reducing the banking ex ense of handling such money and of great y facilitating the saving of money by depositors who might otherwise find it inconvenient to deposit such small amounts. 7 With these and other objects in view, the invention consists in the construction and novel combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and pointed out in the clalms hereto ap ended, it bein understood that various 0 anges in the orm, proportion and minor details of construction, within the scope of the claims, may be resorted to without departing from the spirit or sacrificing any ,of the advantages of the invention.
In the drawings,
The figure ofthe drawing is an elevation of a bank book constructed in accordance with this invention.
In the drawin in which is illustrated the preferred embo iment of the invention, 1
esignates a bank book provided with leaves a coin 2, truncated at the top at 3, to expose the to portion 4 of the book which may be eit ier leaves of the book or the inner. faces of the covers of the book, and the said top portion 4 is designed to contain the name of the bank or other financial institution associated with the words In account with opposite which is a space 5 for the name 0 the depositor, but the name of the depositor may be placed at any other convenient osition as will be readily understood. e name of the bank and the name of the depositors preferably occupies the left hand side of the top portion 4 and the right hand side bears a serial number 6 and a block 7 of numerals consisting of aseries of rows of numerals from 1 to 9 and also include a naught, as clearly shown in the drawings and the book is punched or perforated, the perforations 8 being through numerals of the said rows corresponding to the serial number of the book, and designed primarily for use in connection with mechanism of the said machine for permitting the passage of pins thereof corresponding with the numerals unched, for printing the serial number 0? vthe book on a strip or tape within the machine, and also the serial number of the. deposit in the bank book, so that the bank or other financial institution will be able from the strip or tape and the contents of the machine to make proper entries in the books of the institution.
The truncated leaves 2, are ruled to provide date columns 9, a teller column 10, a serial number column 11, a deposit column 12, and also withdrawal and balance columns 13 and 14. The date'column is preferably provided with spaces for the day, month and year as shown. signed to receive teller designations for indicating where the deposit was made and will preferably consist of a machine number. but any other form of designation may of course, be employed. The serial number column 11, receives the serial number of the deposit in the book and is provided for insuring a duplicate record on the record strip of the machine sothat the records strip of the machine will contain all the necessary elements for making proper entry into the books of the institution. The amount of the deposits in the deposit column 12, is designed to be controlled by coins deposited. in the machine with which the The teller column is do g leaves of the bank book will be num book is associated. The withdrawals and balance columns are for use in balanclng the boo The ruled horizontal lines of the pa es 051' consecutively from the top to the bottom so will be no liability of a depositor losing anythin by failing to arrange the bank 300k in proper position for the record of the e sit.
nstead of employing the perforations for pins, contacts such as metallic eyelets or the like may be used for operating electrical mechanism.
The machine with which the book will be associated will form the subject matter of Y a'separate application and while it is preferable to use the book in connection with a machine, the record may be made on a record strip for banking purposes, or on any other orm of record sheet as will bereadily understood.
