A suitable metal rellector ll is mounted in the head E so that its axis is perpendicular to the axis of the main body or easing C and is centrally sleeved and threaded as at lt to receive the threaded base L of the usual from the edges of the registering'openings l5 and 15 in thewalls W" and l-l, and at its forward end has an outwardly extending flange R whereby it is supported in operative position. While the reflector' may be supported in position and insulated in any desirable way, as shown, it is desirably mounted coaxially within ann insulating ring I of rigid material such as liber or hard rubber, At its rear end "the ring .I abuts against the shoulderiformed by the walls lV vand H. At its iront end the ring l is provided with an inner shoulder l against which the rear side of the rel-lector llange R abuts, the thinner outer` part l of the ring l being spun inwardly over the outer edge and the front lace of the flange R to secure the flange and reflector together so that they andjtlie incandescent lamp li may be easily removed and inserted as a unit. This unitary lamp, reflector, and mounting ring assemblage is held in place in the head by the unitary lens and lens ring assemblage already `descrilired and by indenting the side Wall of the head, as shown, these assemblages may be positioned more closely to the axis of the tubular body C to provide a shorter right angle leg on the head and a flashlight that is more stable when standing upright on its bottoni end. l/Vhen the lens ring is coupled to the head, its threaded part screws into the shell H between the latter and the insulating ring l, and the inner of the lens G engages the inturned outer end l oi the insulating ring.,r .l and clamps the latter' against the shoulder or (partition wall 'formed by the llenges l-l an i Nn The reflector is thus completely insulated from Qall parts of the casing and rigidly mounted in place.

The center Contact L of the lamp is engaged by the tree end of a spring Contact 29 that is supported on and secured to the disk 27 by metal rivets 29 and 29, the lat- 'ter beinfcr longer than the rivets 28, 29' and' securing a washer 30 to the under side of the dishY 27 so .that the lower end of the rivet 29 will engage the center contact B of the battery B and hold the latter away from the other conducting parts on the disk. A contact plate 3l is secured to the under side of the disk 27 by the conducting rivet 28 and similar rivets 2,8', and has an opening 31' separati ng it from the conducting rivets 29', 29.. The plate 8l is engageable in any re1- ative position of the head E and body C' by the inturned end 32 of a yieldable strip conductor 32 lthat-is associated with the switch mechanism ttor controlling the lighting of the lamp.
y As shown in Fig. G, the conductor 32 is secured by rivets 38 and 34 to the free end of a still' strip of insulation that is sccured near its 'other end by rivets 3G and 37 to the inside ot the case C. One end of a strip of yinsulation 38 is secured by the rivet 33 between the outer free end of the insulating strip 35 and the insulating ring that abuts against an interior shoulder in the front threaded part ol the casing,r C, and te other end ol the strip 38 passes around the lower edge ol the ring 39 and covers the outer end of the rivet 33 to insulate it from the metal casing, The rivet Sli: extendsoutwardly through an opening 42 in the casing C and is insulated from the latter by a Washer 34: secured by said rivet.
