To all whom it may concern:
Beit known that l, HANs Lnrrnnrrorr, a citizen or the United States, residing at Reading, in the county of Berks and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Film-Indicating Shutter Devices for Cameras, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to shutter-operating mechanism for cameras, in which provision is made for automatically showing the rotation of the film so as to prevent double exposures; and it provides for determinedly rotating an indicator wheel at each reciprocation of the shutter plunger in an improved and simple structure fully described in connection V with the accompanying drawings and the novel features of which are clearly defined in the subjoined claims.

' As shown in the preferred construction illustrated the angular-sectioned plunger 10 is non-rotatively guided in the centrally apertured-ca'p 11 of the cylindrical casing 12; and in addition to operating the flexible shutter-rod 6 as stated carrieswith it in its l'eciprocative movement an independently rotatable indicator wheel the periphery of which is provided with a circular series or" numbers or indiccs adapted to be successively shown through an exposing aperture 12 in the casing wall 12. The cylindrical wall portion 15 of this indicator wheel is preferably formed by a folded-up sheetmetal stamping such as shown in Fig. this being suitably secured to a centrally apertured diametral hub portion 15 whereby the complete wheel is loosely mounted upon the plunger extension 10 so as to per unit or its being independently rotated while partaking of the reciprocative movement of xthe plunger.

15 respectively, which successively engage inward projections 12 and l2 on the casing well adapted to serve as fixed pallets; the axial movements of the indicator wheel with the plunger causing rotation thereof as determinedby' contact of the inclines of the upper and lower cogs successively with thedownward movement thereof releasing the shutter for exposing film 6, causing the incline 7 of a lower cog 15.to contact with a lower pro ection 12', and rotate the wheel sufiiciently to make its succeeding upward movement result in completing the turning movement so as to expose the succeeding film number {7), through the casing aperture 12 It will he noted thatthe projections 12 and 153 are arranged out of vertical alineinent so as to insure their proper relation to the inclined cogs successively enigaged'; and that each reciprocation oi the plunger and wheel causes a rotary advance of the latter so as to indicate the number of the film to be next used.

Thus each downward and upward movement of the plunger merely carries the indicator wheel vcrtically, its turning movement being efi'ected entirely by its contact with the fixed projections on the casing.

Ina shutter device fon cameras comprising a shutter-rod plunger; a cylindrical casing having a number-exposing wall aperture, an indicator wheel carried by said plunger, and wheel-engaging means fixed to said casing whereby a determined rotary movement is imparted to .thcwheel during each reciprocatory movement of the plunger.

In a shutter device for cameras comprising ashutter-rod plunger; a cylindrical casing having a number-exposing Wall aperture, an'indicator wheel carried by and freely, rotatable upon said plunger,- and wheel-engagingmeans fixed to said casing whereby a determined rotary movement is imparted to the wheel during each-reciprocatory movement of the plunger.

In a shutter device for cameras comprising a cylindrical casing having a numbenexposing wall aperture, and a shutter-rod plunger; a rotatable indicator-wheel in said casing carried by said plunger and comprising a cylindrical indicator-wall portion separately. formed of stamped .sheet material and a diametral plunger-connecting portion.
6. In a shutter device for cameras comprising a cylindrical casing having a number-exposing wall aperture, and a shutter-rod plunger; a rotatable indicator wheel in said casing comprising a cylindrical indicator-wall portion separately formed of stamped sheetmaterial; and an attached diametral plate rotatably mounted upon said plunger.
