I mob les where n slid ng 7 windows are employed or e as easily lns'talled in other struccompanying drawings, and set forth. in the itures employing sliding windows or "clolll' l a One of the obj cts of the invention is'to provide a nmp ivlli'cll team-1am base @1- bo'dy member having a fixed aw'aatrmow able :jaw s, bot h ot:- a novel construction to facilitate the reliable operation of the device as a clamp and as a guide.
A further object is to provide in a clamp of the character described anovel and efficient means for operating the movable jaws, which means is arranged in a simple and effective manner, is easy to make and inexpensive.
With the above mentioned and other objects in view, the invention consists inthe novel construction and combination ofparts hereinafter described, illustrated in the acclaims hereto appended, it being understood that various changes in the form, proportion, size and minor details of construction within the scope of the claims may be resorted to without departing from the spirit or sacrificing any of the advantages of the invention.
Referring to the drawings:
Fig. 1 represents a longitudinal sectional view of the clamp of the invention showing it mounted on a sill and a part of a window sliding through the clamp.
Fig. 2 represents an end elevation, being broken away and showing a part of the lock in section, also showing portions of sliding closures in the clamp and the jaws in clamping position, in dotted lines.

The plate 1 is provided with depending flanges 16 extending at right angles to the jaw 5 and provided with lateral extensions 17 on the upper sides of which latter the shoulders 10 slidably engage, whereas the sides and the flanges 12 slide upon the inner sides of the flanges 16.
The screw 15 has a central annular rib 18 extending from opposite sides of which are right and left screw threads 19 and 20, which threads are adapted to cooperate with the thread segments 13 of the jaws 7 and 8.
The ends of the screw are squared as at 21 and project outwardly from the sides of the clamp. A handle 22 having a socket 23 at one end is fitted to either end of the screw, dependent on the position, and manher of use of the clamp. A screw24 holds on its under side V the handle in place. A groove 25 is formed in the under side of the plate 1 and receives the rib 18 on the screw. Extending from opposite sides of the groove 25 are depressions26 which receive the screw 15.
These shoulders 9 engage the upper side moval of worn or broken parts may be made with little or no trouble.
I claim:
