To allwwm t may concern Be it known that I, GLENN A. HiXsoN, a citizen lof the United States, residing at Shawnee, in the county of Pottawatomie and State of Oklahoma, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in a Vermin Exterminator, of which the followy ing is a specification. y i i This invention relates to an improved vermin exterminating device which is especially, but not necessarily designed for use in chickencoops or other forms of fowl houses. f d. l
The invention has more particularreference to a device which automaticallyand uniformly distributes the enterminating medium upon the dfow-ls` as they pass out of the coop through the exitopening, the operation of the device being un-der the control of the fowls themselves.
The features of a device of this class are clearly obvious and the structural details for permitting the desired result to be effectively accomplished, will become appa-rent from the following description and drawing.
In the accompanying drawing forming a part oi' this application and in which like numerals are employed to designate like parts throughout the same:

Referring to the drawing in detail, it will be seen that the reference character 1 designates a fragment of a chicken coop or house provided with the customary exit opening 2. In the present instance a tubular ring 3 is located in and occupies a considerable por'- tion of the opening 2. This ring is provided on its inner surface with a plurality of apertures 4l, through which the exterminating powder, or other vermin killing means is ejected. 'I his ring may be separatelyy supported and it need not be permanently mounted in place because it is only desirable to apply the exterminator at certain periods of time. It will be noted that a T-coupling 5 is connected to the ring and a supply pipe 6 leads angularly from this, the pipe being connected at its opposite end to a valve casing 6 in which a valve 7 is slidable to control the entrance of powder to the pipe 6.
It will be noted that the valve is provided with a stem 8 extending above the casing and the horizont-al portion 9 of a link'l() is pivotally connectedthereto, this portion being pivotally supported upon a bracket 11 carried by `thepipe 6. An air compresser or other l air supply means is adapted to be connected with eac-h head.
Located within the tank is a conducting pipe 17. The free end of this pipe indicated at 18 is located at the top of the air chamber within the tank. The intermediate portion thereof is disposed on a. comparatively low level and is bent as at 19, being then extended upwardly at 30 and through the front end wall of the tank as at 21, after which it is bent to substantial U-formation at 22, and connected with the valve casing 6. Bend 19 is formed with intake holes 23 through which the disinfecting powder 24;
is sucked. If desired, an air pressure gauge 25 may be provided.
In operation, air under pressure is introduced into the tank through the apertu-red pipe 15 by any suitable means, and inasmuch as the bend 19 containing the apertures 23 is disposed below the level of the powder 2li, it will be seen that the air under pressure will enter the upper end 18 of the conducting pipe 17. The air on rushing outwardly through this pipe will serve to suck in powder through the apertures 23 and the powder-laden air under pressure will pass on through the conducting pipe into and through the valve, supply pipe 6 and thence through the apertu-red ring 3.
The powder will be sprayed in jetsk through the opening 4 around the entire circumference of the ring to be uniformly spread onto the body of the chickens as they pass therethrough. Obviously, as before stated, the valve is controlled by each fowl as it steps upon the depressible platform or perch 12, whereby tol operate the'contiol valve.
