which the following-is a specification.
This invention relates to a process of treating tobacco for use in the production of cigarettes, and it has for its object to provide a cigarette tobacco which, while cooling and soothing to irritated membranes of the mouth and throat of the smoker, is
absolutely non-injurious and is pleasant to the taste.

I claim:
1. The process of treating cut cigarette tobacco which consists in impregnating the tobacco with a solution of menthol and alcohol.
2. The process of treating tobacco which consists in impregnating the latter with a solution of menthol and alcohol, in which said ingredients are employed in approximately the following quantities and proportions to each pound of the tobacco: menthol, 2.? grams; alcohol, 10 cubic centimeters.
