ment of my invention, attention first being strike the cup-shaped receptacle 15 with called to .Fig. 1 .wherein the numeral 5 his club, while teeing off the receptacle will designates a peg, conical in shape and prefnot be carried away from the player, and erab y of a 'ngidmaterial such as hard rublost. This novel feature is accomplished by her, bakelite, wood or the like, an annular anchoring the cup-shaped receptacle 15 to Lattices the shank Mot the peg 12 by means of a cord 19.
It is to be understood that the form of my invention herewith shown and described, is to be taken as a preferred exam le of the same, and that various changes in t e shape, size, and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from t e spirit of the invention or the scope of the sub- .joine'd claims. a
Having thus described my invention, 1 claim 1. In a golf tee, a conical-shaped peg formed of hard rubber, an annular flange formed with and of the same material as the peg, to limit the downward movement of the peg when inserted in the earth, a shank formedon the uppermost portion'of the peg and of the same material as the latter and a cup-shaped recetacle formed of soft rubber carried by the --.|anl.
2. In a golf tee, a conical sha ed peg, an-
annular flange formed integra with the peg, to limit the downward movement of the latter when inserted in the earth, a shank formed on the uppermost portion of the peg, a cu -shaped receptacle having a recess, adapte to receive the shank, for permitting adjustment of the cup-shaped receptacle to difi'erent heights from the ground, eyelets mounted in the shank and cup-sha ed receptacle respectively and a tying e ement for connecting the eyelets to keep the cup-sha ed rece tacle from being distantly remove from t e shank.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature.
