IMPROVEMENT IN COMBINED SCISSORS AND KNIVES.

Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 154,750, dated September 8, 1874 application filed August 22, 1874.

` To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that we, IsrDoRE A. FLACK and ROBERT W. FLAGK, both of New York, in the State of New York, have invented a new and useful Scissors-Knife, of which the following is a specification:

The nature of our invention consists in the combination of knife blades with scissors handles or arms, in such a manner that said blades may be closed similar to pocket-knife scissors-handles, jointed together on the pin n, and provided with springs a a, on their vinner sides, similar to springs in the handles of pocket-knives. Upon the joint-pin n `knifeblades B B are hinged, acted upon by the springs a a, in the usual manner.

When this instrument is to be carried in the pocket, or otherwise, the blades B B are closed, similar as the blades of pocket-knives, as shown in Fig. II. When it is required as a knife only one of the blades, B, is opened, as shown in Fig. III, and when the same is to be used similar to scissors both blades B B are opened, as represented in Fig. I.

What we claim as our invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

The scissors-handles A.\A, provided with knife-springs a a, in combination with knifeblades B B, hinged together upon a pin, n, the whole arranged and operating substantially in the manner set forth.
