Be it known that I, RICHARD WATSON, a British subject, residing at Blackburn, county of Lancaster, England, have in-- vented certain new and useful Improvements in Shedding .Motions .for Looms for Weaving, of which the followingv is a specifi'cation. i
This invention relates to shedding motions more particularly applicable for calico looms with a plain shed. 'The object of the invention .is to dispense with tappets and levers or treadles and to provide a positive oscillating motion to operate the healds alternately, and according to the invention an oscillatingor rockbosses to which the heald straps or connections-. are attached.
It is constructed with a crank wheel and connecting rod driven from a rotary part of the loom, a shaft and slotted lever rocked or oscillated by the connecting rodand a second rocking or oscillating shaft geared thereto carrying heald bosses'by' which the healds are operated.
The invention will be fully described with reference tothe accompanying drawings in which sufiicient of a loom is shown to illustrate the invention. 1

In carrying out the invention on the side or gable end of the loom a crank wheel A is mounted to rotate on a suitably placed stud 0r shaft 0 and driven b a wheel B from the ordinary crank shaft The wheel A is fitted -with acrank pin a',.which by'be-- ing bolted in one of several holes a a 'therein may be set at any desired distance 1923.
