-, Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. H5fifi ll,- dated September 1, 187-1 application filed June 12'. 1874,
To all whom may concern Be it known that I, JOHN MARTIN O'r'ro, of Brooklyn, E, 1)., in the county of Kingsand State of New York, have invented a certain 'new and Improved Basket for Bangs and Corks, of which'the following is a specificationz This inventionis illustrated in the accompanying drawing,i n which Figure 1 represents a horizontal sect on. Fig. 2 is a transverse vertical sectien.
, Similar letters indicate corresponding parts. This invention relates to a basket, which is inadeof four upright and four horizontal barsot' angle-iron, the flanges of which form the supports for fiat horizontal and npright bars, all the bars being either galvanized or coated with tin, in such a manner that, "when the basket'is filled with bungs or corks, the air has free access to the same from all sides, and
rivets at a certain distance from their bottom ends, so thatthe lower parts of said upright bars'form legs, which support the basket. To the horizontal flanges of the bars b b are riveteda series of transverse bars, 0, and one or more longitudinal bars, d, which are also rivete'd to the transverse bars. The flanges of the uprigh barsww are connected by fiathort zontal bars 6, and thesebars are strengthened.
by flat upright hers f, one or more, en eeeh side of the basket. To the top bars of the basket ere riveted eyes 9' for the reeentlen a bail, h.
All the bars which constitute my basket are made of galvanized iron, or of iron coated with tin, s0 that the same is protected against corrosion D By these means basket is prodneee'i tit to contain a large quantity of brings or certs, and these brings or corks can be washed in the basket and left therein to dry; without danger that they becenie moldy, since the air has free access to all parts ct my ens et. Furthermore, my basket is Slil'Oilg and durable, so that it is not liable to broken by hard usage.
What I claim as new, and desire tc secure by Letters Patent, is-
As a new article of manufacture, a metallic basket for bungs and eorks, constrneted as herein shown and sleseribed that is, of. upright ttilglfi-ilOHS it, horizontal angle-irons 1:, pi .tiiel bars 0, attached to the horizenai angleiron'; I), and composing the bottom of the has ltet, the end horizontal bars e, and the iongi tadinal bar or lltl-PS d, eonneeting' the parallel bars 0, the beers (t-being made to "xtenii below the bottom bars h c (l, as herein set forth,
in testimony that 1' claim the iin'egoinghave lierennte set my need.
