To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, EMMA LAURENE SWEET, a citizen ofthe United-States, and a resident of WVallace, in the county oi Shoshone and State of Idaho, have invented a new and Improved Game Apparatus, of which the following is a description.

My invention relates to an apparatus for game involving a top bearing numbers or other symbols representing different values, and tokens to be acquired or paid out by the individual players of the game according to the number or other symplaying a bol of value determined'by-the spinning of the top.

The general object of my invention is to provide an apparatus of the indicated type involving abox embodying a novel assemblage of elements entering into thegame including a board for the spinning of the top, receptacles for the top and for marbles or the like to constitute tokens, and a novel form of trays for use by the individual players to constitute receptacles for the tokens while playing, saidtrays being adapted to be disposed in knockeddown form whereby the complete assemblage may be neatly stored in small compass, the trays being accommodated upon the spinning board beneath a cover to prevent the scattering or loss of any of the elements of the apparatus.

In the box 10 is accommodated a receptacle 16 adapted tobe removed from the box set upon the table for the playing of of the receptacle. At the same side of the compartment 16 as the pocket 18 and at an end of the latter is a removable box 21 constituting a holder for the top 12, said box having a slide cover 22.

The main compartment beneath the cover 17 accommodates a sufficient number of trays designated generally by the numeral 23, to supply the maximum number of playand said trays laid in stacks in the receptacle 16 beneath the cover 17.

The bottom of receptacle 16 constitutes a spinning board when the trays 23 and box 21 are removed.

The faces of the top 12 in addition to having the numbers indicating the values are also distinguished by dilferent colors, such as red and brown, for example, to indicate a Win or a loss in the play, the one color, as brown, indicating always a Win, and the other color, as red, indicating loss. In practice, in playing the game, each player places three marbles on the bottom of the receptacle 16 forming the spinning board and these are taken by the one in charge of the game and placed in the pocket 18. A tray is given to each player to hold the winnings in a manner to prevent the marbles fronrrolling around and possibly marring the table surface. The players then place four or more marbles in their respective trays for use at the starting of the game by the spinning of the top by the person at the right of the one who is in charge of the game. If the red turns up the number of marbles indicated by the number determined by the spinning of the top are paid out, or, if a brown numbered surface turns up, an equal number of marbles is paid out of the marbles in the pocket 18. When the specially marked face 14 of the top turns up, which may have a red,.white and blue surface in addition to its larger number, the player Wins a number of marbles indicated on such face and the winner has the privilege of another spin of the top. Losses are paid by the individual players from marbles in the individual trays and the winnings are paid out of the marbles in the pocket 18. In practice, any suitable system of forfeits may be agreed to for offenses agreed upon.

On the bottom of the receptacle 16 pieces 'offelt 33 are applied to prevent marring of the table and for a similar purpose felt V is applied to the bottoms of the trays 23 as indicated at 34.

A game apparatus of the class described including a receptacle having a main compartment provided with a removable cover, as well as a smaller covered compartment for marbles at a side of the first com partment, there being a partition between said compartments, and a separate removable box, in said receptacle and fitting'therein at an end of the second compartment alongside the first compartment.
