Be it known that l, Svc-N GUNNAR Non-A DnNsnnN, a subject ofthe King or" Sweden, residing at Landskrona, Sweden, have 1nvented certain new and useful Improvements in Digging Machines, of which the following is a specification. l i

In Fig. 1, the horizontal shaft through A, is 'fastened with bearings to a movable stand 1 and carries a polygonal fra-me ABCD, the rigid members 2, 3, l and 5 of which are movably joined together at the corners. Rotatably mounted in these corners are Wheels carrying endless chains 6 to Which digging tools 7 are secured.
'Vhen the machine is to made ready for operation, the polygonal frame ABCD is placed in sucha .position as to cause the digging tools to properly engage the material to be dug out. The form of the frame is then securely fixed, and the stand is moved at a uniform rate oit' speed along the pile of the material. In digging out a suitable quantity in this vvay, the digging-tools are lowered into the pile and the. stand is moved in the opposite direction.
