consists in the matters hereinafter described and more particularly set forth in the appended claims.
In the accompanying drawingsv Fig. 1 is a front view. of a metal fence post with attached fencing and having an anchor plate secured thereto in accordance with my invention;

Fig. 4 is a like view on line 4-4 of Fig. 1.
In the drawings, I have shown a rolled metal fence post 1, T-bar in form and hav-v ing a front flange or head 2 and a rear flange or mid-web 3. The lower end of the post is pointed to facilitate driving-it into the ground, and the front flange 2 has a low rib 4 extending lengthwise thereof and from which project a plurality of lugs or studs 5, 5.
The studs or lugs 5 are spaced regularly apart lengthwise of the post 1 and the ones above the ground either form supports for the horizontal fence wires 6, 6, or such other fencing as may be used, or prevent vertical displacement thereof when the fencingor wires do not rest on the lugs but lie between them. To do this said lugs or studs 5 project out from the post beyond the wires 6, 6, as shown in Fig. 4. Said studs or lugs 5 are flattened out transverse to the 1 to provide relatively wide supports for the wires 6, 6, as indicated in Fig. 2.
To attach the wires 6, 6 tothe post 1, I provide fasteners 7, 7. These are prefer ably made from single lengths of relatively stout and bendable wire of about the same 'tures 9, 9.

Adjacent the lower end of the post 1 is the anchor plate 8. This is substantially flat and extends across the front flange 2 of the post over the low rib 4. Said plate 8 projects beyond the side edges of the flange 2 and is provided with two holes or aper- These are spaced apart vertically the same distance as the lugs or studs 5, 5 and receive the two at the plate. Said studs or lugs 5 project outward beyond the plate 8 through the apertures therein and are made wide enough for the lugs to pass through. These lugs hold .the plate 8 against vertical displacement on the post 1. Said apertures 9, 9 are elongated vertically to accommodate for variation in the spacing of the lugs 5.
To hold the plate 8 on the post, I provide a clip 10. For the clip, the plate 8 has another set of holes or apertures 11, 11. These are arranged between the ones 9, 9, are spaced apart horizontally far enough to clear the-side edges of the front flange 2. The clip 10 is applied against the front face of the plate 8 and has its mid-section in' flatwise contact therewith and with its ends or I prongs 12, 12 inserted through the holes 11,

A metal fence post, comprising a front flange having a plurality of lugs or studs projecting outward therefrom, said lugs being spaced apart lengthwise of said post, and flattened out transversely thereof, an
