To r// lwlw/i1 'if' 21mg/ #mier/1w Be it known that, l. iinnn'r l Tinianwinni,7 a citizen of the llnited Statesg and a resident olt di i-.nhn in the, roiinty of' Fulton and State olf Georgia, hare invented certain new and useful lniprorennnts; in lnseetieide ('ontainers vand Distributors, o't which the l'ollowirgr is a speoilieation.
Iilly invention relateeA to iinpro\ent'-fite in l inszrliride eontainerii.and dierilne ot that Clase to which the device disclosed in United Staten Patent #1.500,514. `granted rlnly S, l to L. An object ot the present inrentimi is to provide` a container and di. lribnlor of the character deseribei'l which has simple, reli ablennd el'ieient pneumatic nic-,ane ol novel eonstrnetion lor causing' the disehargije ot linely dirided powder t'roin the outlet, et the eontainrr leeetion olE the deviare without' perniil'tingi' passage ot the insertiride lron'i 'the il* eontainor Section to the Spano between rela lively inorable parte ot' the dern-e. v

@ther objects and advantages will be apparent troni the tellowing` def-oription eon eidered in eoi'iinnetion with the accompanyingdrawings, in which:
ldiipgnreI -i is a longitudinal Vertical section lhro'iigjh a. praetiral ei'nbmlin'ient ol,` the inreinbion`r A 're view of a Slight ly' niodilied ilorin olz the saine device,
Figure il in a fiagjinentary vertical Section through the discharge end portion of the niodihration exhibited in YFigure il iS a Section on the line fie-fl of lliaure ll is a Section on the lino ot l-"i,nre l, and

a practical en'ibodin'ient oit the invention includes a eontainer section having a tubular body L covered at its forward end by a cap 2 which may be. secured on. the body 1 in any suitable known manner. The cap 2 ear-v riee a nozzle or tubular discharge member il `n'hirh tapers toward its outer end and eX- tends troni a discharge opening' 4l in the head et the cap. rThe body l is oloeed at its rearward end by an -end member 5. An air displacing section which is comprised in the device includes a body portion 6 which slidably lits on the body l and is eoyered at itey rear-ard end with an end member 7..
The length o'lf the body 6 ot 'the air di$- piaring Section is slightly greater than the length nl the body l. et the container section troni the, rearward end of the latter to the "finer 'end of the cap Q, which is indicated and which serres as a Stop ttor limiting L: .--,i'fling niovenient oli the body (i on the rontainer Srrtion to 'ard the forward end of he latter. An air space 9 thus will be del lined-within the air displacing section beween the end. men'ibers. 5 and 'i' of the two sections oi the, devicer` irrespective ot the poaition et' the air displacing;` section on the container Section. This `air space will be enlarged an the air displacing' Section is drawn rearwardly on the container section, and of eonree will be decreased in areaas the air displaeingi` Section ie moved forwardly on the. body oli the container section.
A blow tnbe for establishing communication between the air space 9 and the in terior o'l' the wintziiner Section is designated at 1th and has the rearward end portion tl'iereo'lE secured in an opening` il 'in the end nieniber 5. The openingl ll is in linewith the opening' el and in located adjacent to the junetnrey el2 the end member 5 with the body l. The tnbe l@ is Connected with the wall oi* the oiiening; 'il in any snit-able known manner so as to be rigid with the end member 5 and lo hare a 'luidtight fit in the opening l1. nlhe tube I O extends within the lriodyv l nearly to the forward end of the latter` but terminates short oli' the head of the cap 2. The rearward lend portion 0f the tube l0 may protrude into the air space il and in reduffed at its extremity at 12 'SQ that the inner wall of the reduced portion will serre as a Seat for a hail Valve 1 3 which is freely movable in the rearward end por- 'covered at its inner end by an inwardly opening flap valve 16.
From the foregolng (.lescription of the various parts of the device, the operation thereof may be readily understood. When the air displacing section is nioved rearwardly of the container section, the space t) is enlarged and air is permitted to pass into the space 9 through the opening 15. At the same time, there will he sufficient suction on the space within the tube 1t) to move the ball valve 13 to its seat at the rearward end of the tube so that passage ot' insecticide through the tube Irom the space within the container section 9 during the movement ot the air displacing section on the container section is positively prevented.
14`orward xnovelnent of the air displacing section on the container section will reducel the size of the air space ,tl and air will be forced at high velocity through'thc opening at. l2 into and through the, pipe l() into tbe interior of the (anitainer section,` thus blowing insecticide from thc container seetion through the'opening 4 and nozzle or spout. il' in spray t'orlnatiou and at a high velocity.
'lhe modified forni of the device illust rated in Figures 2 and il differs from the preferred forni of' the device only in that ythe body 1 of thel container section is covered at. its `forward cud'with a ea'p 2 having a lateral opening L1 from which a discharge nozzle or spoilt' 3 extends in lieu ofl the cap 2 which has been hereinbefore described.
The operation'of the modified forni of the device is identical in essential respects with the operation of the preferred form of the device, and therefore need not be set; out herein.
It will be obvious from the foregoing that the end member 5 may be made separate be in line with the. outlet of thc container section.
(.)ther modifications and ada tations ofthe forms of the device herein disc osed also may be provided 'without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention, and l thei-'efore consider as my own all such modilications and adaptations thereof as fair-ly fall within the spirit and scope of' the appended claim.
l elainx An insecticide. container and distributor comprising a container section havingr the forward end portion thereof provided with an outlet, ablow tube extending through the rearward end portion of the, container section longitudinally thereof, an air displacing section having a tubular body slida'hly fitting on said container section and having a closure for the rearward end thereof, and a. forwardly opening check valve. in the rearward end portion of said tube.
