PIERCE OCKENDEN, OF EDMONTON, ADBERTA,.CANADA, ASSIGNO'R OF ONE-HALF TO JESSE WARD TREDWA Y, OF EDMONTON, ALBERTA, CANADA.
INDEX-CARD HOLDER ron TELEPHONES. 5,;
Application .flled October 30, 1924. Serial No. 746,787.
To all whom it-mag concern:
.Be it known that I, PIERCE OCKENDEN,
a subject of the King of Great Britain, and
residing at the city of Edmonton, in the 5 Province'of Alberta, in the Dominion of Canada, have invented new and useful Index-Card Holders for Telephones, of which the following is the specification.
My, invention relates to improvements in .index card holders for telephones and consists ofa rod having'a forked or Ushaped end, with a set screw through one of the legs with which to clamp the rod to what ever object it is desired to attach to. In this particular instance we have shown the holder attached to. a telephone. At the top of the rod is a groove to which is fitted the spring clip holder. Theholder is made out of one piece of metal in the form of a T, having the two ends of the top strokerolled inwards, ,forming circles, with just suflicient space between them to grip the grooved'portion of the rod and hold tightly and at the same time. allowing the clip to revolve. The stem of the T is bentbackwards and upwards, forming the holder in'which -is inserted the card which may be of any size or shape required.
When the index card holder is attached to a telephone, the card would contain names and telephone numbers as a handy reference attached to a telephone and a card inserted in the clip. 1
Fig. 2 is a front view of the holder showing spring clip attached to upper end of Similar figures refer to similar parts throughout the various views.
1 is the forked holder having a clamp screw 2 passing through the lower leg 3. The upper end of the rod of the holder has a groove 4 around its circumference. A
spring clip holder 5 is made of one piece of metal cut in T-shape 6, having the ends 7 and 8 rolled in to the centre in circles 9 and 10 and which form the spring clips which grip the grooved portion 4 of holder 1. The lower portion 11 ofthe T is bent backwards and upwards, forming a holder 12 in which is inserted the card 13 bearing the telephone numbers or other information.
-The forked end of the holder 1 fits over .the bracketv 14 at the back of. the mouth clamp thereto and having oneend grooved,
a double spring clip fitting within said groove with back in the form of a holder, as i and for the purpose specified.
Signed at the city of Edmonton, this 16th day of October, 1924.
