OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA, A GORPORATION BOTABY-OmBURNER CONSTRUCTION.
Application filed Kay 12, 1924. Serial No. 712,685.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, Jnssn C. J 0H NS.ON, a citizen of the United States, resldmg at 940 Arlington Street, Oakland, m the county of Alameda and State of California,
have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Rotar -Oil- Burner Constructions, of which the ollowing 1s a specification.
This invention relates to an oil burner and particularly to a burnerof the rotary type, in which the oil is atomized and projected b means of centrifugal force.
The object of the present invention 1s, to provide an improvement on the structure shown and described in Letters Patent entitled Rotary oil burner granted to me March 11th, 1924, No. 1,486,383.
The invention consists of the parts and the construction, combination and arran ements of parts as hereinafter more y described and claimed, having reference to the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1, is a sectional view of the burner atomizing cup equipped with my improvement; and 1 Figure 2, is a sectional view of the im proved burner member.
Referring to the drawings in detail, within the rotary atomizing cup 1, a spider memher 2 is secured, and the cup is rotated by a motor through the pro elling shaft 3, The outer end of this sha is reduced as at 4, u on whiohthe spider member is secured y means of a securing bolt 5, extending inwardly axially of t e shaft, the said bolt terminating in a head 6, whereby the bolt may be properly positioned. The inner edge of the cup being extended mwardly to form an annular flange 7. Secured within the burner casing 8, is an annular sleeve 9, surrounding t e propelling shaft 3 and extending into the atomizin cup 1, thus forming the inner wall of an o su 1y conduit. v
e present improvement consists par ticularly in the construction of the outer wall member of said oil supply conduit. It is constructed substantially as shown in der a constant pressure from a pumping system by means of a conduit 15.
The outer end of this wall member is provided with a cylindrical bore 16, of a suflicient size to surround the atomizin cup 1' in a spaced relation, said bore 16 eing rovided at its base, with a recess 17 to orm an annular channel for the annular flange 7 of the atomizing cup 1 and in a spaced relation thereto.
The outer edge 18 of this wall member approaches in close proximity, the outer ec go of the atomizing cup.
In operation, oil is fed into the chamber 14 through the'pipe 15 by means of a pum in system under a constant pressure, to e de ivered to the atomizing cup and any leakage or drip of oil, not consumed b the ackward at the annular'flange 7 of the atomiz revolving atomizer, forcing its way with a cylindrical bore of sufiicient size to surround said atomizing cup in a spaced relation; an annular sleeve surrounding said drip of oil from said oil feed conduit at 19 pro elling shaft, said sleeve extendin mm the cup flange will be utilized. sai etemizing eulpband. forming Wifil the In testimon whereof I have efifixed my said fruste-eoniea cred part of said elesignature in t e presence of two Witnesses.
