This invention relates tothe art of4 spinning, and has special reference to a machine for spinning cordage such as twines, small ropes andthe like.
More particularly the invention relatesy to a machine for spinning cordage from several strands of fibrous material either like or unlike in kind and texture. j
One important object of the invention is to improve the general constructionof devices of this character.`
A second important object of the invention is to provide an improved vform of spinning machine wherein the spun material will be wound on a spindle or bobbin as fast as it is spun.
A third important object of-the invention is to provide an improved form of spinning machine wherein novelV provision will be made forthe. vformation of a sliver from fibrous material and then spinning the same.
A fourth important object of the invention is to provide for spinning several strands together, certain. of which are twisted in one direction and the remainder of which are twisted in the opposite direction.
VVth the above, and other objects in view as will be hereinafter apparent, the invention consists in general of certain novel details ofconstru'ction and combinations of parts hereinafter more fully described, il"

In the embodiment of the invention herein disclosed, there is provided a base 10 whereon are arranged spaced standards 11 and 12. Journalled in the standard 11 is l13, this shaft being also journalledV in a standard 14 placed adjacent said standard 11. F iXed on the shaft 13 between the standards 11 and 14. is a groovedrpull'ey 15 which is connected by a belt 16 to the driving wheel 17 of a sewing machine, the latter being driven in the usual. manner by a pedal 18 and connecting rod 19.l Fixed in the standard 12 is a tubular, `shaft 20.
Between the standards 11 and 12 is located what is preferably termed a flyer frame consisting of the heads 21 and 22 and the connecting bars 23. The head 21 is fixed on the shaft 13 to revolve therewith while the shaft 2O forms a journal on which is revolubly mounted the lhead 22. In this head 22 is a recess 24; and fixed on the shaft inv this recess is a grooved pulley 25 connected by a belt 26 with a similar grooved pulley 27 mounted on a worm shaft 28 journalled in the head 22.
