Be it known that I, JEAN Szrnmn, a citizen of the Russian Republic, residing at Berlin, in the German Empire, have invented new and useful Improvements in Magazine Fuse Plugs, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to improvements in Y magazine fuse plugs, and the objects of the improvements are to provide a fuse plug of this class which is strong in construction, and in which insertion of a wrong fuse is made impossible. lith these and other objects in view my invention consists in the matters to be described hereinafterand particularly pointed out in the appended claims.
For the purpose of explaining the invention several examples embodying the same have been shown in the accompanying drawing in which,-

Referring to the example shown in Fig. l, my improved magazine plug consists of a; screw-threaded plug a, a contact disk ai cylindrical part o, and an axial bolt Z connecting the said parts. The plug a and the member c consists of insulating material. The part II is in the form of a cylindrical block or barrel having an aXial bore m corresponding to and fitting on the member c, and the part III is in the form of acap carrying a central internally screw-threaded bushing e for being secured to the upper screw-threaded portion of the bolt (Z.
The barrel II is formed with longitudinal bores f arranged along a circle and adapted to receive the individual fuses g. The lower ends of the said individual fuses are secured to metallic plugs h adapted in the assembled position of the device to engage in corresponding notches of the contact plate Z) and thereby to establish electrical connection between the said contact plate, the fuse wire g, a cup shaped contact h provided at the upper end of the wire g, and a switch arm z' provided within the cap III. The operation of the device will be understood from the foregoing description of its parts. When the parts have been assembled the contact is made in the manner described above. It now one of the fuses has blown the drum II is turned until the next one is in operative position. Arm c' is arranged inside of the member III thereby preventing any possibility of coming in contact with this part. Arm e' has the usual Jfunction of a conductor and of a` holding device, whereby the drum II is held stationary when a fuse is in operative position. In order that the drum may more easily be turned and to prevent accidental turning of the plug and the cap members I and III I prefer to construct the drum with a comparatively large diameter.
As II am enabled to construct the upper portion c of the plug which supports the barrel with a large diameter the said portion will not be bent by careless manipulation thereof, so that a good contact is insured between the plugs 7L and the contact plate I), and between the cups 7L and the switch arm 2'.. Furthermore, as the individual fuses g can not be replaced by unauthorized persons there is no danger that a fuse of improper capacity is inserted. In this respect I prefer to make the construction more reliable by constructing the devices with plugs c of different diameters for different capacities of the individual fuses, so that each current intensity corresponds to a plug c ot a definite diameter.
As the bushing c is confined within the cap III none oi the metallic parts connected with the current supply projects to the outside of the device.
Where it is desired to use a larger number of barrels for different current intensities without materially increasing the dimensions of the members I and III and to avoid any possibility of inserting wrong fuses, I prefer to construct the member I in the manne-r shown in Figs. 2 and 3, where the plug consists of an innen part c and a fil prismatic sleeve Z rotatably mounted thereon. ln the manufacture ci the device shown in Figs. 2 and 3 the dimensions of the plug and cap members I and IH are the same for all the diieren't current intensities, and only the dimension' of the prismatic sleeve Z varies according to the current intensity. The central aperture of the barrel corresponds to the outer coniiguration of the prismatic sleeve Z.
In the modification shown in Fig. 4 the magazine plug is constructed in such a way that only the operative fuse is connected to the current supply. As shown the disk o1 is made of insulating material and a contact piece is embedded therein which is electrically connected with the plug The form of the Contact piece corresponds to that of the Contact plug 7a (shown Yin Fig. l). In the assembled position of the device the current flows from the plug a, over the contact piece the wire g, the contact piece it, the switch arm c', the bolt cl, and to the terminal lc. The individual fuse. wires which are inoperative are not connected to the current supply. The member c is of insulating material, preerably porcelain. n
The construction shown in Fig. 4t in which only one of the fuses is under electric tension is preferable because thereby the electric arc is avoided when switching ina new fuse wire, which in some cases injures or destroys the wire.
I wish it to be understood that my invention is not limited to the constructions shown in the figures. For example the cooperating contact pieces can be constructedin different ways.

I claim:
1. A magazine fuse plug, comprising a relatively Xed member, a cap member' spaced therefrom and connected; therewith, electrical contacts @n said members, ak rotary member between said contact carrying members, a fuse member removably fixed on said rotary member and rotatable therewith, and fuses within said -fuse member located for successive-ly connecting said contacts.
2. A magazine fuse plug, comprising, a relatively fixed member,l a capV member spaced therefrom and connected therewith, electrical contacts on said members, a rotary member between said rcontact carrying members, a fuse member removably -Xed on said rotary member and rotatable therewith/,and
fuses within saidY fuse member located for successively connecting said contacts, the configuration of said rotary member varying according to the capacity of the .said Jfuses'.
