IMPROVEMENT IN EXTENSION-TABLE SLIDES.

Specification forming part of Letters Patent N0. 150,496, dated May 5, 1874; application tiled March 7, 1874.

To all whom -it may concer-n:

Be ity known that I, WILHELM VALENTIN, of College Point, in the county of Queens and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Extensiolr'lable Slide, of which the following is a specification:

In the accompanying drawing, Figure l represents a top View of my improved extensiontable slide 5 Fig. 2, a vertical transverse section of the same on the line c c, Fig. l; and

in such a manner that the outer edges of the same project over the recesses a., while the space between their inner edges forms a groove or recess. The-connection of the rails A is pro;

duced by one -or `more L-shaped guide-plates, C, which are screpved to both sides ot the rails l near their ends, running with their projecting parts along band B in the recesses a, and serv ing also as stops for the rails when extending the table. The guide-plates C form also the bearings for small rollers D, which run, with their conical ends, in similar recesses of plates B, to reduce the friction to the smallest degree, and with their central raised part of larger diameter than the ends in the central grooves formed by the band B.

, In this manner not only a noiseless and qnick'sliding of the rails along each other by means of the rollers is produced, but also, on account of the longitudinal metallic bands placed on the rails, a considerable stiftening and strengthening of the same are obtained.

Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The combinatioinwith slides'A, having face plates B, of rolls D and guide-plates C, as and for the purpose Specified.
